Obviously the #1 seed in the East losing last years MVP for the year...

A bunch of crazy stories from game 1's (I'd throw Shumpert's torn ACL over Heat crushing Knicks or KD's buzzer beater), but that is unarguably the impact event. If you vote otherwise, you're wrong.

Rose, easily.

Its a tie between the 27-pt comeback and rose out for the rest of the season. The first round games have had many surprises.

It has to be Rose tearing his ACL, it's the only thing that's more than just a 1 game impact

Depends on how Rose comes back from the injury. If he can't come back and play at that MVP level for the rest of his career, then it's obviously the Rose injury. If Rose does come back, ten years from now I think we'll still be talking about that 27 point comeback.

Right now it's definitely Rose though.

As a Celtics fan, Rondo's brush in with the ref and potentially being suspended for game 2.

As an NBA fan, Rose tearing his ACL. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Rose for sure.

Heat have beaten teams like that before and Durant has hit numerous game winners.

No, sorry. Only as a side note in the stat sheet whenever a playoff team is down major points. If this was a game 6 or 7 in the conference championships or Finals? OK, now we have a discussion. But a game 1 in the first of 4 rounds between two teams that are considered dark horses? No.

The potentially career changing Rose injury to begin rd. 1 (on what would have been a title contender) WILL be talked about and dissected for many years.

Shumpert > Rose.

Nah. Gotta be D-Rose with the career-threatening injury. Who knows how this will affect his explosiveness. One of my favorite non-Knicks.

Didn't even think to watch that game or even check the score until you mentioned it here. I don't even consider it a playoff series.

Today's headline, Rose's injury. But the 21 point lead the Grizz had at the end of the 3rd quarter matches the Nets lead on the Celtics in '02, so unless someone has a bigger meltdown the Grizz/Clipper game is going in the record books. Based on that, I voted for the meltdown. Players get hurt everyday, but you may never see another monumental choke like we saw last night as long as you live.

Are you kidding me? How has anyone voted for anything besides DRose tearing his ACL... An ACL tear is a HUGE deal for any athlete, let alone one that relies so heavily on that athleticism.

Rose's injury effects the bulls, the heat, potentially the celtics and other teams in the east not only this year but possibly in years to come. That's #1.

Rose, hands down.

It completely changes the complexion of the playoffs, and brings into question Rose's future.

Hardly anyone will talk about the 27 point comeback next season, and few outside of Knicks fans in terms of Shumpert. And unless the Magic win the first round, it will be a non discussion. And considering this is the first round, Miami's performance against the Knicks won't be remembered at all unless Miami wins a Chip.

If the Bulls go out early, the focus will be on Rose's injury. If they lose to the Heat, it will be a question in everyone's mind. If Rose's career is ended, or he comes back and plays poorly next year, the injury will always be lurking in the back of people's minds.

Rose's injury affects the EC going forward in a very real and substantial way, and barring another catastrophic injury to another top seeded team or a cinderella run by a low seed, it will be seen as the most memorable and impactful moment of the Playoffs.

They are.

Knicks are in Atlantic division. Heat are in Southeast Division. :eyebrow:

I disagree. ESPN had half a dozen comeback games today that weren't really consequential to the finals or even the series in some cases. If Rose is fine after recovering from the injury, then I don't see why anyone would be talking about his acl tear. If it DOES affect him it'll absolutely be more important.

So a possibly career threatening injury is good for Heat fans? I'm glad I know most of them don't think that way.

I was shocked the Knicks didn't give the Heat a competitve game (at the end). I think the Knicks vs the Heat is the marquee matchup. If the Knicks lose game 3, I'll be shocked.

The Clippers comeback, especially because no one gave them a shot.

Chris Paul made that game like the shoot of a Hollywood hoops flick, Hoosiers or whatever.
