Missed all of game 1...I was at a wedding. I was stunned to see we won. Maybe I should have had more faith. I love these guys, and hope they keep playing inspired ball. It's been a tough season, and they have nothing to lose at this point. Any success is gravy. Hopefully they keep playing unselfish and solid team ball. Even though the wins haven't been plentiful since Dwight went down, the team has been a bit of a fresh air. There's no more drama, and it seems like a group of guys willing to play as one. It's a bit refreshing.

I fully expect the Pacers to bounce back and play like they played all season tonight. If they don't we're in real trouble...

I don't think the Pacers lose 2 in a row at home. That said, if we have to lose it better be because the Magic scored 115 points!

Magic did what they had to do by stealing one there. I see Indy bouncing back, but if Orlando is knocking down the 3 look out.

I think Indiana gets back to playing good ball and takes this one.

ManRam
04-30-2012, 01:17 PM
Yeah, Indy is gonna come out hard. I'd imagine they're going to throw their best effort at Orlando tonight. Hopefully we can hit some threes...because honestly, that's still our best hope without Dwight there.

Hoping the Magic can take the Pacers out would be a nice story in these playoffs

As a Magic fan, I was very suprised when the Magic won game 1, I think Pacers will win game 2 in a blowout but if Magic wins tonight then I am not complaining!

If we lose tonight this series is over...

Anyone have a link to this game? I have NBA league pass that I paid for but since it's on NBA tv it won't show up on pass. Any help is appreciated.

Welp. The inside play killing the Magic right now, as it probably should. Dominating the glass and really getting easy looks at the rim...

MagicHero3

Big baby shouldn't be our first scoring option

ManRam
04-30-2012, 08:05 PM
We hung in there. Good way to close the quarter. Took their shots, and answered.

It's clear we're just gonna hoist threes. We didn't make many of them...but we're still in this thing.

JJ is our best player behind Dwight. Keep that dude on the floor

ManRam

12 second chance points. Big offensive boards from Baby and Ryno. Getting them from Anderson is nothing new...but I'm liking Baby's effort. Undersized, for sure, but they're scrapping.

I thought Jameer was doing a good job breaking down the defense, it's just no one could hit a shot. There's some hope in that regard too.

once again our bench comes in and our lead diminishes

ManRam
04-30-2012, 08:12 PM
I love this team!!!! No Howard, no care!

Just a breath of fresh air. Everyone is selling out. There are no agendas. There are no malcontents. All there is are 5 players playing as one and selling out to make plays.

The offensive rebounding remains huge. Anderson

Or underrated the Magic!

I want the Magic to win this series if for no other reason but to see them try to fire Stan after doing so. Watching this team play right now, and I can't help but think how big of a ****ing moron Dwight Howard is for wanting a top 5 coach in the NBA fired...

ManRam
04-30-2012, 08:31 PM
Forget who it was saying before the series that the Magic were gonna mail it in without Dwight. I seriously think they want to win ever more desperately because of the whole Dwight thing. They are fighting harder right now.

How we are winning the rebound battle right now is beyond me...and it's really the main reason we're in this. It's lead to almost 10 more shots. The offensive rebounding has been amazing.

Also, if the Magic had Bass instead of Baby right now?? Yikes. Baby is undersized for a center, but he can do it a hell of a lot better than Bass. He's been a huge difference maker. I kept saying that we just gotta be patient, because Baby is a better fit...and finally it's showing.

Exactly what I was thinking while watching this game. I know you guys got a lot of flack for that trade but Baby is showing his worth.

Bass had a better season. Baby never got in rhythm and never got it going. But the second he got big time minutes, he's played great. Bass can't do what Baby is doing right now. Bass isn't the defender, rebounder or hustle guy that Baby is. And most importantly, Bass can't play centers.

Good half. Hopefully we can start hitting some threes...because I still just can't believe this rebounding will continue.

"They knew the play was coming and they still couldn't stop it" I never thought I would hear a quote like that about Big Baby. I'm really hating the guy alot less. He plays hard on every possession.

I was thinking the same thing. Esp when I saw Baby do a turnaround fadaway jump shot in game 1. He has alot of finess for a big man.

I don't know why you guys don't go to Hibbert downlow more. Baby puts up a fight but Hibberts sure size allows him to back down and get that hook anytime he wants it.

As predicted. Everyone is focused on the big markets and whining about refs...

This should be a fun half. We're gonna have to start hitting some threes.

Davis continues to attack and attack.

Losing hope in the 3rd quarter of game 2?

Take solace in the fact that they are playing sl oppy and still in the game. The magic are playing inspired basketball right now...pacers are playing sloppy basketball. Until we can match that intensity this shouldn't be a surprise.

ManRam
04-30-2012, 09:00 PM
This offense is not better without Dwight, but it plays better in the sense that there's more ball movement and player movement...and far less action is forced.

Dwight makes things easier in that he spreads the floor and helps the shooters out...but the ball movement stagnates much less when he's not in there.

Magic really struggling offensively...of course right after I compliment it

Pacers getting to the rim and forcing the Magic to play interior defense again.

And they're rebounding better...as they should.

Yeah I was sensing that run coming. Pacers are so streaky with their momentum. I don't think they'll let this one get away though. This game is too important for them, I think the Magic are going to have to catch fire to win this one.

ManRam
04-30-2012, 09:16 PM
Really, this is what Indy should always be doing: out-rebounding us and attacking the rim. There is literally no reason to ever not try to get to the rim or at least get it in the paint with our lack of size...and there isn't an excuse to let the Magic rebound it equally as well either.

For the Magic to win a championship, Dwight Howard's offensive game should grow. He should work on midrange shots and do face-up mid-range jumpers. Looks like the Pacers will tie the series.

This is how this team has played all year and we should be fine if we stay this way. First game and the first half of this game served as a wake-up call.
