Who do you got?

Like most people, I go with the Heat to win in the end, but unlike most people, I think it will be really close. Knicks IMO match up against the Heat really well compared to the other teams that could have played the Heat in the first round or even 2nd round.

Not only that, but Melo always has his best games whenever he plays against Lebron. Which will make the series even more fun to watch. Despite all that, I stil have the Heat winning it, but in 6 or 7 games for me. Probably 7 since game 6 is at NY.

HEAT in 5. Knicks have no chance. And yeah its not confirmed yet ^^^^ Both teams are 35-30 and play tomorrow. If the Knicks lose they'd be 35-31 and if the 76ers they'd be 36-30 making them have the 7th seed

Except the Knicks have nothing to gain from winning, and could rest key guys, while the Bobcats are desperate to avoid the worst winning percentage in history.

Don't get me wrong, I want the Knicks to win and face the Heat, it just isn't a foregone conclusion yet.

Even if Knicks rest Melo, Amare (not sure that happens though since he's been out for awhile and needs the playing time), and Chandler, J.R. Smith will probably go off for 40 lol.

chandler DEFINITELY getting rest.

If anyone rests, it'll be Tyson and Melo.

btw, I thought the Knicks LOCKED UP the 7th seed today by winning. They hold the tie-breaker with philly...and from what I remember, they're 1 game ahead....????

or are they tied?

Miami isn't going to underestimate the Knicks. They know that the Knicks have the swag and heart to pull off an upset. Unfortunately for NY, Miami has Lebron James. My brain is telling me 5 games but i'm going to say Heat in 4 if they want to really send a message to the other teams in the East.

Were any of the Clippers 3 point attempts even contested in tonights game? Knicks won but they are going to have to atleast try to guard the 3pt line if they want to beat Miami.

Both teams get burn in guarding the 3. Both are around the bottom four. Heat is 3rd in frontcourt defense. Knicks is 2nd in the category even with Amare sad attempt on D. The only difference between the two teams is the Heat has played together longer and have two of the best players in the league. Its still gonna be a closer series then you think.

If we had to just rely on Melo to score then heat in 5 but we have multiple scorers all around that can go off for a big game

Only thing I'm worried about is the perimeter defense against D-wade and Lebron james

Melo at the 4 and your team looks good melo stat and chadler on the floor, its gonna be ugly. stat will stand around like usual, melo will hog the ball, chandler will have to cover for stats inability to defend. The matchup isn't set in stone yet, but since we play Charlotte for our final regular season game, unless we really tank it, we're locked into the 7th.

Heat in 5 or 6 tops. Heat are a tremendous fast break team and the Knicks are terrible at transition defense in the open court. That's pretty much a recipe for disaster, especially knowing this Heat team will probably be playing at their pre-March level.

LongIslandIcedZ

Goes both way's though. Obviously there is a large number of silly Knick fans, but that is a result of fan base size. There is also a very large number of arrogant Heat fans who seem to be under the belief that they won the championship last year and are about to stampede through to a repeat. At the end of the day, this Heat team has won absolutely nothing yet.

Having said that, no matter what happens, this should be a very fun series. I do think the Knicks have a chance because they are peaking at the right time. I wish they would get the heat in round 2 so they can get Lin back, but it doesnt really matter.

What is there to convince, how many times have you guys beaten us this year? Bosh outplayed chandler convincingly in that last matchup, stat makes your team worse. Im trying to convince myself this will get to a 5th game.

Its gonna be sunday, and melo might score 40, but that doesnt mean your team will win. I can see it now, heat win it in 5 but melo outplays lebron, all we hear for the next 6 months is melo is better than lebron:laugh2:

Whose sticking Stat? And who is going to be on Chandler and then i take it your bench is better then ours too lol

Go Knicks

well said. Thank you logical knicks poster.

You're right he doesn't know what others are saying in the locker room because Amare said something completely different

Funny conversation in the Knicks' locker room after their preseason game against the Nets.

Josh Harrellson, an avid hunter, asked Amare Stoudemire where they could go hunting this season.

Stoudemire replied, 'South Beach.'

A half-amused, half-confused Harrellson asked Stoudemire, 'What can we hunt in South Beach?'

Stoudemire replied, 'We're hunting D-Wade and LeBron.'

So did Shump

It’s obvious we can beat them,’’ said Knicks rookie guard Iman Shumpert, who made Wade work all day. “We just got to do so. If it takes us facing them in the playoffs, then that’s what it takes.’’

So please, keep talking about a team you know nothing about.

I'm sure someone will claim no one holds up their end, but I wore a White Sox signature for 6 months in 2007. Had to remind a bunch of new Cubs posters that I was, in fact, a Cubs fan.

I know the HEAT are stupid; they hyped themselves up so much. But it doesn't bother me because i don't live to see them win, so even if we lose (which we won't) you'll never get the satisfaction that i would get when the knicks lose (which will happen in 4 games)

no im humble enough. But im not going to sit and pretend like everyone actually contributes in life. Fact is that some people don't care about others. And im actually a really nice person in real life; as im sure alot of people here are too.

You can't claim to be humble, it is shown through actions and your actions suggest otherwise.

LOL people do that all the time. That's western society for you. Hell, athletes do that all the time. If you don't like it, go live in an impoverished country.

I think NY will lose tomorrow on purpose. They have already said they would rather play the Bulls and Bobcats have to be pumped to be playing the last game of this horrific season so they can just the hell out of Charlotte afterwards. And their trying to avoid being the worst team in NBA history so there's some more motivation for ya.

Chicago-New York series 1st round....I got the Knicks in 7 simply cause I think D Rose will try to play through injuries and end up hurting the team more than helping. And the Knicks are one of the few teams who have a bench that can match the firepower of the Bulls bench.

Korver vs Novak....cant wait!!!

all i know is that the Knicks are underdogs but its crazy to think they cant pull the upset. they are actually determined to. Melo would be the key. But we do have possibly the DPOY in chandler and the best 3pt shooter in the league in novak. with experience guys like stat and smith skys the limit. i couldn't imagine it not being a competitive series.

oh yeah cant forget that shumps gonna be a pitbull on whoever hes guarding.

Clearly u werent watching Wade calling for picks and coming of double screens to get away from Shump. Stop being a homer. Shump guarded Wade extremely well. Wade looked more like rip hamilton that game than dwade. Heat in a hard fought 6 games.

The safest bet to make: the Knicks will beat the Bobcats tonight.

I take the Heat in 6. The Knicks have enough talent to make the series close and we may even be looking at an upset if the Heat role players don't step up. If the Knicks can win game 1, they can do some damage in the series...

28pts 10-18 shooting, shump had 2 nice picks, other than that, shump didnt do much 1 on 1 defensively.

I had no idea what the Knicks were doing last night.

They seemingly tanked their lead away but playing Dan Gadzuric. But when the game was in the balance, they brought in Tyson Chandler and Iman Shumpert to stop the bleeding, but DIDN'T bring back Carmelo and Amar'e.

I was thoroughly confused last night.

Knicks weren't tanking. It's just risk vs reward. They didn't want to risk injuring their starters while being up by a lot and once it got close they brought back Shump and Tyson, so I really don't categorize that as tanking.

I mean, listen. Is it possible the Knicks win? Yeah, is it probable? ehhh. If Amare and Melo step up like they have been together of late and the D holds up (Knicks are rated 4th best D in the league right now) then there is no reason they cant sneak past. Weirder things have happened in the world of sports and the fact is, the Knicks are not really a 7th seed team. They are a top 4, especially under Woodson. Going 8-15 and then popping off another 7 game losing streak under D'Antoni ruined this team's positioning. Pacers are going to kill the Magic though in 4. Wackness if you ask me... they caught the biggest break.

This is the guys first year cut him some slack he is still learning. He played in the IVY leagues so the competition and talent levels are very different compared to top basketball colleges. He'll be fine as a starter with experience.

If he comes back this playoff yes he's best suited to come off the bench at first so he could get back into game shape.
