View Full Version : Who Is Gone First: Dwight or SVG?

What could have potentially been the best season in Orladno Magic history has turned into a soap opera. The front office, due to rumours of Diwght's trade demands, was unable to lure any top rate talent via free agency. When Dwight did sign on for another year, it was too little too late. Even still, the Magic had the best center in the league on their team, and every team they'd meet in the playoffs would lose that position to the Magic, and potentially the series. Instead, a back injury has Dwight missing what may very well have been his last playoff series in a Magic uniform, and his request that Stan VanGundy be fired has clearly been dismissed, at least for now.

Now, far from contending for the NBA Championship, the Magic look to be first-round fodder to a team (the Pacers, if standings stay where they are at) who may very well be swept out of their second round playoff series (though I think Indy has an honest shot this year).

The Magic are going to be a footnote to a footnote this offseason, and won't even have the luxry of a lottery pick to console them.

Somebody is going to have to take the blame for this. Dwight demanding a trade again? Again? There is no way Orlando can handle another season of this drama, and though he may have been perhaps justified, SVG could have made things a lot easier if he had just shut up about what had been confided to him by upper management.

Heads are going to roll come season's end, but who's will be first?

SVG keeps saying that he doesn't care what happens to him. If so, if he had any cajones at all, he'd ask Orlando to release him from his contract so that he could go coach elsewhere. Like NYK or LAC.

I have a feeling, that they are about to hit the reset button.

Stan Van..good coach...poll came out..no one wants to play for you...plus this circus...goodbye..

Trade Dwight Howard and Turk for multiple #1 and some comp pieces, bang...refresh button

depend how orlando wants to handle it

d12 IF they want to start fresh on rebuilding and looking at deals to trade d12 in the off season

SVG IF management believes d12 will not opt out, and looking for other stars to build around d12 in the offseason

Why the hell should have to take on Turkoglu?

The Front office doesn't have the leverage anymore. Anyone who takes on Turkoglu along with Dwight is a dumbass.

I think Dwight goes on draft night, Stan can make a case for himself during the playoffs, he he gets a couple of wins against the Pacers (IMO the worst of the top 4 out East), they may decide to hold onto him until his contract is up in 2013.

Sadly, Stan will get his walking papers before the playoffs are even over. Howard may very well get traded on draft night but Stan's services will no longer be needed by then.

One will stay one will go.

If Dwight leaves for somewhere else, then SVG stays.
if Dwight decides to stay in Orlando then SVG will be gone.
