Last night, in 2 different games, the same incident happened.

In the PHILLY @ NJ game, Sundiata Gaines of the Nets hit the Sixers' Jrue Holliday with an elbow to the nose (He was bleeding profusely) when he was following through trying to make a move on the offensive end. Gaines stayed in the game.

In the CHA @ WAS game, Tyrus Thomas of the Cats did the same exact thing against the Wiz James Singleton, but Tyrus Thomas was ejected automatically with 3 minutes remaining in the 1st qtr.

Why the differential treatment with 2 same exact plays????

The refs and how they see it I guess. Every ref is going to call things different.

Paul Silas asked the refs to find a way to eject Thomas :D

LOL those werent exactly the same. The Tyrus incident has the look of something much more malicious, whereas Gaines was aggressively trapped. Good call both ways, your just mad Artest hasnt been suspended yet.

NBA officiating has been horrible for years now. It seems that its just make-up call after make-up call.

Did you just start watching basketball this year?

Hes using these examples to try and justify that Artest should not serve a long term suspension.

Most of us can see right thru this BS and realize his agenda.

Yes. For sure. No doubt.

Were they the same intent?

For all we know, Tyrus could have done it with purpose while one was more of an accident.

The nba (david stern) calls it "human element", two people, having two different opinions and emotions towards similar situations.

Why don't we get the call correct starting now?

First decision should be suspending Artest for the rest of the season and playoffs.

There is a difference in "intent", Ron has a history, he'll be punished severely... After what Bynum got, 5-10 games is what I'm expecting.
