I don't think he should've got it, and this is coming from someone who enjoyed the linsanity.

Too many missed games, in a strike shortened season, which he didn't even start playing in for a good way in.

thoughts?
my thoughts is that I'm very surprised since that was only like a 15 game stretch

He hasn't won yet. The guy is just speculating whether he should be in the conversation.

I loved Lin but he probably isnt the most deserving.

But like all fans know, its a popularity contest. And out of all the candidates for the award he brought the most exposure.

no way he gets it

only way he could have gotten it is if he played through this current stretch, i really hope he doesn't win, that would be a mess

This is a league that loves the hype and big story.... I wouldn't be surprised if he wins.

There is no question that he impacted out season in sucha huge way.....

On a team with such big names, it was Lin who turned out to be the missing link and turned it all around....

Who is the leadin candidate anyway ilyasova? Lmao

Ryan Anderson should win

As a Knicks fan, he doesn't deserve it.. Ilyasova or Anderson for me.

Well if MIP is for the guy that improved the most I think he deserves it. If it's for the best player of those who have made significant improvements then there are better candidates. But i don't think it's for the latter, but I could be wrong.

Lin is going to win because of his story. There are several other players that I would put before him for improved basketball play.

I'd go with Anderson. Is there a thread about who should get it? I haven't looked.

No other award says "who cares?" like most improved.

Although he did miss alot of games he went from being an undrafted nobody wanted on their team to a star overnight thats pretty big improvement i dont think anyone else can say that anderson and ilyasova were already good role players as opposed to lin who was stuck in the bench.

J Lin for Most improved??? He barely played and he faltered after about 10 games... I guess we should give Klay thompson the MVP cause he had a good stretch of games as well. Andrew Bynum wins Most Improved end of story.

Pretty sure they'll only reward it to a player who has played a full season. So probably Lin can't win it.

Another name that I haven't seen mentioned here is Greg Monroe. He should at least be in the conversation, imo.

Oh, I see now that Spiggity_ace did mention Monroe.

idk where this myth that lin 'faltered' came from, sure he didn't keep averaging the 26 and 8 he was doing during the insanity stretch, but 16 and 7 with melo and amare back in the lineup is not faltering at all

For his little 10 game span or whatever the ****ing amount he played? LOL don't think so

Still has a big increase from last year despite not playing a whole lot of mins. With that said Anderson should win it

MIP for April Carmelo lol

alot of hatred and jealousy here towards lin i bet if he played for a small market team like the bucks or bobcats and did the exact same thing he did in NY everybody would be all up on his nuts.

Probably the worst award ever. Or at least the one with the least significance. The only time I remember I cared was when Mike James didn't win it with the Raptors while averaging 20+ PPG (true story, not joking about the caring part).

No but I remember when I first started posting and said Wall would be a bust...

The only award he can hope for is MIP lol

I don't really care when you first posted. I don't really even know who you are. Nice try though.

Im a knicks fan and the answer is NO.
Linsanity was great but short lived.

it has to be Illyasova

Super.
04-24-2012, 01:05 AM
Anderson
Ersan
Lin
Bradley

In that order

he'll get 6th man. they won't give him both. Bynum will get it.

Anderson

No way should he win it. Linsanity lasted only like 3 weeks? **** that. It should go to Anderson or Bradley.

If Harden doesn't get it, I'd give it to Pekovic; Bynum has made some improvements, but they aren't that significant to give him the MIP.

Illysova, Pekovich, Teague, Anderson, Lou Williams, Harden, Dragic, Boogie, Monroe, Hibbert, Dragic, Lowry, Bynum and even Alonzo Gee have a case over Lin.

LongIslandIcedZ

Everyone keeps saying the guy on Milwaukee and Ryan Anderson. What about Harden and Bynum? Their both way better players.

Illyasova and Anderson went from average to very good, Bynum and Harden went from very good to great.

Depends on which you think is a bigger jump.

If he played the whole season then maybe but in my opinion it should go to Anderson

04-24-2012, 09:47 AM
Lin is not going to win this because of a popularity contest. If these awards were like that, Yao Ming would've been the rookie of the year instead of Amare Stoudemire. Lin is the most improved for the amount of games he played as a starter, but when it comes to the full season, he shouldn't get it.

celtNYpatsHeels
04-24-2012, 09:52 AM
Lol, Lin played good for like a week and a half under a DAntoni system and now he is the most improved player because ESPN gave him a catchy headline?

Get out of here. How about guys like Monroe, Anderson, Bynum, Bradley, Ilyasova, Pekovich, Harden, Gortat???
