View Full Version : The Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics and of course T-mac

Wanted to bring out that once again Tmac is on a team not seeded higher than 5th which he has never been on a team seeded higher than 5th, but even with that in mind, Atlanta still has it's work cut out for them as they have 2 games left at home vs Clippers and Mavericks. Boston has Miami and Milwaukee at home.

Atlanta holds a 1 game lead, but Boston has the head to head vs Atlanta.

4 y - Boston 37 27 .578
5 x - Atlanta 38 26 .594

I'm kinda hoping Atlanta has the HCA because I don't think they can beat Boston without it. But also it probably gives Tmac the best opportunity to advance to round 2.

What would the perception be if the Hawks got to round 2 for Tmac?

As a Celtics fan, I could care less about HCA versus the Hawks. I don't think its going to matter, strictly because of the fact that I don't believe the Hawks have what it takes to beat a defensive minded team like the Celtics.

At this point I think making it pass the first round is irrelevant when discussing T-Mac.
It would mean nothing if they got bounced in the 2nd. He'd have to really be a part of a push with the Hawks to make it to the ECF for this 1st round Virgin talk to stop imo.

Tracy McGrady isn't even relevant anymore.

If the Hawks can get McGrady to the second round, I don't think it changes anything because he isn't the marquee player on the team. He's a role player now.

I think the Hawks need home court because the role players will play better. But, man, the Celtics are on one right now at the right time. KG at center was a great move for coach Rivers. Garnett is playing at a level of confidence and sharpness I haven't seen since the title year.

Sorry, but Tracy Mcgrady hasn't been relevant in years. He's the epitome of a "well past his prime" player.

I expect Boston to beat them in 5-6 games, tops.

He is just a role player now.

even his most ardent supporters can't give him an ounce of credit in terms of his career standing. love t-mac, but i don't care if he makes it at this point. ship has sailed.

No, better record always determines HCA in Basketball. In Football it is division winner.

This is all nice and dandy, but the Celts have HC locked up already... They won their division (guaranteed top 4 seed) and Indy clinched the 3rd seed.

All Atlanta can do is lose out and hope Orlando wins out so they can play Indy.

Once again Tmac will be one and done in the first round. How is Tmac even relevant? Stop living in the past. You guys are what is remaining of the original Tmac apologists.

no they don't. The team with the better record gets the HCA now. So ATL will have HCA

For everyone saying the C's have HCA vs the Hawks that is not true. W/L records decide HCA, not seeding.

^^^Hmm, I didn't know that, but I don't think it's concerning, I expect the Celts to beat the Hawks in no more than 6 games.

Well people were doing it for Grant Hill in 2010 when he finally made it out of round 1.

It stops the stupid posters of the first round virgin but thats about it. In terms of his career/legacy its pretty minuscule without the production.

Either way who cares, people here act like its a crime to carry crap beyond its talent level. Sometimes I wonder if people would think higher of him if he just missed the playoffs throughout his career so long as he made it past the first round once in his prime. Which is of course idiotic but Im trying to put myself in the mind of a hater.

Nope always been that way. Philly in 1990 had the #2 seed and Chicago the #3 seed, but Chicago had HCA because they had the better record. This is why seeding shouldn't matter if the team with the better record will get HCA.

Imagine if (and this won't happen)
but imagine Tmac comes on and averages 25 5 and 5 in the playoffs and leads ATL to a chip lol, i wonder where he would stand in his career then,

im stupid for even imagining this lol

It will mean he was fooling everyone to think he was done to show he turned Atlanta into a legit contender.
