Interesting to see if Philly tanks to screw the Knicks and play the Bulls. I mean they have 0% chance of beating Miami but probably about 5% chance of beating the Bulls. Plus the Bulls are banged up..Milwaukee pretty much took themselves out of the running. So i think the 8th seed is safe for Philly.

I was thinking that same thing, philly has 0% chance vs miami, NY too imo, but knicks fans were saying they were tanking last night lol

Im looking forward to face either. I think the knciks would fare better vs the bulls but wont win more than 2 games vs either.

I think the fans would absolutely rather play Chicago, but I have no idea if Doug Collins agrees - wouldn't surprise me at all if he doesn't have a preference. Either way, I'm pretty much sure he'd prefer to be playing well and on a roll to tanking and getting the preferred opponent.

It also doesn't help that we don't know who's getting the #1 seed anyway, so we don't know where we need to be.

God they are so offensively inept...

Wade>You
04-21-2012, 08:14 PM
If you can watch the Heat game, you are witnessing the biggest coaching blunder of all time right now.

Meaningless game, Spo decides to play Wade. Wade gets injured in the first 2 minutes (dislocated left index finger). If you thought that was a bad decision by Spoelstra, just know that he is about to put LeBron in the game who was originally sitting out this game..

This guy is the absolute worst coach in the game.

Everything you're taught not to do as a coach, this guy does it.

I know heat fans won't agree because they don't want to say that HCA over the Bulls matters to them...but I think going for it was fine  Wade's been in and out for what feels like all season. I don't mind getting him a few more minutes before the playoffs. Completely shutting him down with 4 games left? I don't like that, at all.

It is a dilemma and there are cases for both perspectives. I dunno, I kinda think they should go out and win it, just in case Chicago messes up, they'll get HCA throughout.

But, yeah, I totally understand your point though. Sucks that Wade got hurt.

Agreed.

Considering we need to win possibly win out our next 3 games while playing Dallas and @Indiana in the process, I thought Miami had a very good chance of possibly pulling through and getting that 1st. No complaints from me though.

Totally, unless they're just trying to stall and not play Boston in the 2nd round, which is extremely unlikely. I don't think they care who they play, and HCA is a huge bonus for them (one of the best in the league), so I don't get why they wouldn't try and win out.

I mean, hypothetically... If Miami and Chicago play in a game 7 and Chicago wins, then questions will be asked on why they didn't try and grab the #1 spot.

It's tough, because your players health is greater than HCA for sure, but if it comes down to that one game, you get a huge advantage at home.

There are different ways to look at it, but NY def thinks they have a better shot vs NY. My guess is they think they can contain rose, or at least make him inefficient. But yea, if you guys murder them on the boards it will be over quick. also with amare playing its hard to see them winning more than a game or 2 at most vs either miami or chicago.

Not to mention they would be entering the playoffs losing. But not going to hear me complaining about facing philly:)

Exactly but you have to be careful with injuries. Shumpert and Fields sprained their ankles in the Nets game.

The way Woodson talked about the loss to CLE. It's clear he wants them to win out the rest of the way, which is what I expect.

yes. very happy heat lost and bulls won tonight. wanted no part of the celtics in the 2nd round.

plus i don't think we play the bulls for the rest of the season so home court advantage will still be ours in the ECF. just hope it didn't cost us home court in the finals, though that probably doesn't make a difference.

i feel like homecourt in the finals is actually kind of favors the other team lol. usually if you lose the first two road games and one of game 3-4 at home your done, but with this format they can still tie it up if they take 2 of the 3 games, which puts pressure on the the home team on game 6, and anything can happen in game 7.

Absolutely the right decision in my mind. If guys are really hurt, and need the time, you give it to them, but if they can play you gotta go for it.

Is Lin coming back soon?

I wish but Lin seems to be out for another 3-4 weeks. They said the 2nd round is when he could make a return and the Pacers in the first round would have been the best possible series to get Lin back for Miami in the 2nd round.

I wish he didn't get hurt. No offense to what Amare has brought to NY but Lin >>>>> Amare in terms of on court impact.

Atlanta tomorrow, Clippers on Wednesday, Bobcats on Thursday. I'd pretty much limit minutes and tell them to pretty much destroy Charlotte by 30 so they can rest the entire starting unit.

As long as someone doesnt break his arm, that series is going 6 or 7.

Yea umm hell no

they are just as good if not better defensively, more efficient all around and more deep scoring wise, and have multiple options late in games.

derrick rose hasn't played in like 3 months and the celtics have been unbelievable since the all star break.

bulls fans looking ahead to the ecf is just plain stupid.

I know you wont agree but I don't see why NY would rather face Chicago. I guess they just think Rose will be rusty which is possible. But in my opinion Chicago is a better match up vs NY because of the rebounding. Just my opinion of course.

Rebounding will be an issue for them either way, but, yes, they likely will get decimated on the boards against the Bulls. If they do prefer facing the Bulls, they're probably drawing too much confidence from the overtime win they had against Chicago a few weeks ago. Either way, it's going to be a great first round and the Knicks will surely give their opponent trouble. I don't see them knocking off either the Bulls or HEAT though.

False.

Celtics aren't deeper scoring wise (no bench essentially), worst rebounding teams as opposed to the best in the Bulls and are not as good defensively.

Bulls are the Celtics worst matchup. And have struggled against Chicago WITHOUT Rose.

With your logic, you looking ahead to ECF is just as stupid.

But then again, you're the same fan who thinks it's the end of the world the first sign at a Heat struggle.

Yeah I could see what you're saying. I don't think they can contain Rose though. He had a bad game after missing a crap ton of games. When Chicago played earlier in the Season vs NY Rose murdered them.

I have no reason to be biased about this, the teams that have scared me the most in the playoffs are Indiana and NY. I think we can beat both but those series could lead to 6. Boston, Atlanta and Howardless Magic worry me the least.

Again, there's no reason for me to be biased in that regard considering we very well could face NY in the first.

I've watched enough Boston and enough Boston-Chicago matchups to see that they just match-up horribly against us.

Philly is another team that concerns me, but given how bad they've been recently, I'm not too worried.

Again, if certain Miami fans wanna continue to try to shove down our throats the belief that Boston should scare us, so be it. I really don't care that much. As a Bulls fan who followed this team almost religiously, I know the teams that would give us the most and least trouble. Boston falls in the lesser side, even with their hot streak recently.

And that's assuming Boston even gets through an Atlanta team that should get HCA and has been an absolute thorn on Boston's side for years.

See I don't at all. I think Chicago matches up the best vs Boston. I'd rather face Boston in the playoffs then every other team. They just have the best match ups every where. Garnett has been great as a center because centers don't like perimeter well that is Noahs best asset. Boston is worse at rebounding the NY and Rondo always gets abused by Rose. I want Boston over any team.

Yeah Boston has pretty good match ups vs Miami. But Chicago has really taken it to Boston over the years. Even pre Thibs that playoff series where we didn't have any where near the talent. Rose really steps it up vs Rondo for what ever reason he just plays really well. I think it's because Rondo gambles to much.

Rondo also struggles big time against big pg's.

Needless to say, we kill Boston on the boards as well as whoever Bass has to guard, well that player will have a field day on him. Big reason why Miami isn't able to take as much advantage of that matchup since aside from Bosh (who KG obviously defends) their frontcourt is lackluster.
