Jeff Samardzija, RHP
2-0, 3.95 ERA
Samardzija cruised through the first four innings of his last start but then the Cardinals batted around in the fifth. He threw 103 pitches for his second successive 100-plus game. The Cubs want to keep an eye on him.

Ricky Nolasco, RHP
1-0, 3.46 ERA
Nolasco had a solid last outing, holding the Astros to two runs on four hits over five innings in a no-decision. However, the right-hander threw a lot of pitches, needing 90 to get through five innings. He will try to be more efficient vs. the Cubs.

Aaron Harang, RHP
0-1, 5.91 ERA
Harang dazzled in his last start vs. the Padres. He struck out nine straight to set a new Dodgers record, previously held by Johnny Podres. He also tied a career high with 13 strikeouts, in 6 1/3-inning no-decision.

Randy Wolf, LHP
0-1, 10.61 ERA
Wolf had no feel for his pitches while giving up eight runs in 4 1/3 innings against the Braves on Friday. The left-hander gave up two home runs during a six-run fifth inning.

Bronson Arroyo, RHP
0-0, 2.63 ERA
Arroyo pitched brilliantly for 7 1/3 scoreless innings at Washington Friday but was burned by his own 'pen and a lack of run support. He changed speeds well and seemed to have high 80s mph velocity. He also notched his team's only run with a sac fly.

Adam Wainwright, RHP
0-2, 11.42 ERA
Wainwright endured one of the worst starts of his career on Friday, matching his career high with eight runs allowed. Speed bumps are to be expected this year, as Wainwright is in his first season back from Tommy John surgery.

Jason Hammel, RHP
1-0, 2.08 ERA
Hammel didn't have his two-seamer working as well as his debut, and he allowed the Blue Jays to score two runs on six hits over five innings. The right-hander also struck out three.

Gavin Floyd, RHP
1-1, 3.09 ERA
Floyd danced in and out of trouble against the Tigers, including two bases-loaded jams, hitting three and walking three. But Floyd made key pitches when he needed to, throwing six scoreless innings during a 5-1 victory.

Bud Norris, RHP
0-0, 3.46 ERA
Norris has delivered quality games in both of his starts this year, allowing six hits and four runs (three earned) in six innings Saturday against the Marlins. He's 1-0 with a 2.63 ERA in two career starts against Washington.

Edwin Jackson, RHP
1-0, 2.57 ERA
On Saturday, Jackson gave the bullpen the rest it needed by tossing a complete game -- his first of 2012 and fifth of his career -- in his home debut, allowing one run on two hits. He fanned nine and walked one, with 67 of his 92 pitches strikes.

Anthony Swarzak, RHP
0-2, 3.75 ERA
With Nick Blackburn missing his scheduled start with stiffness in his right shoulder, Swarzak is set to make his third start of the year. He's fared well so far this year, but will be making his first start at Yankee Stadium.

Phil Hughes, RHP
0-2, 9.00 ERA
Hughes doesn't have to worry about his rotation spot with the Yankees -- yet. More outings like his Saturday start vs. the Angels could change that, as he was battered for six runs in 3 1/3 innings, including two homers.

Yu Darvish, RHP
1-0, 4.76 ERA
Darvish allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings, but did not get the decision in the Rangers' 6-2 victory over the Twins on Saturday. Opponents are hitting .340 off him over his first two starts, including .316 with runners in scoring position.

Adam Wilk, LHP
0-1, 3.60 ERA
Wilk wasn't knocked out by the opponent in his first Major League start so much as a teammate's foul ball into the dugout, taking a Prince Fielder liner off his left shoulder. It ended a relatively strong outing at five innings with two runs allowed.

Jeremy Hellickson, RHP
1-0, 3.29 ERA
Hellickson struggled with his control on Saturday against the Red Sox when he walked three and surrendered three home runs in five innings to earn a no-decision. He is 1-0 with a 4.25 ERA in two career starts at Rogers Centre.

Henderson Alvarez, RHP
0-0, 2.77 ERA
Alvarez has thrown consecutive quality starts to begin the season, but has walked away with two no-decisions. The 21-year-old will take a 2.77 ERA and 0.92 WHIP into his next outing against the Rays.

Mike Minor, LHP
1-1, 4.38 ERA
Minor produced the finest start of his young career as he limited the Brewers to two hits in 7 1/3 innings his last time out. This marked the first time he had worked into the eighth inning. He has improved as his confidence has grown.

Josh Collmenter, RHP
0-0, 12.86 ERA
Collmenter has struggled in his first two starts of the season. He lasted three innings in his first start and four in his second. Considering he also had a poor spring, it's possible he could be pitching for his spot in the rotation.

Tommy Milone, LHP
1-1, 2.57 ERA
Milone retired 16 of the first 17 batters he faced in Saturday's start vs. Seattle, before throwing 28 pitches in a three-run sixth inning, which proved to be his last. Overall, he allowed four runs on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

C.J. Wilson, LHP
2-0, 1.38 ERA
Wilson had his second straight effective, workmanlike outing on Saturday against the Yankees, giving up just one run in six innings despite throwing 105 pitches and constantly having to pitch his way out of jams.

Vance Worley, RHP
0-1, 3.75 ERA
Worley left some pitches up in the strike zone last week in a 5-0 loss to the Mets. He allowed eight hits, four runs, four walks and two home runs in six innings. He is looking to make some adjustments against the Padres.

Joe Wieland, RHP
0-1, 10.80 ERA
Wieland had a rough time in his Major League debut against the Dodgers, allowing two home runs to Matt Kemp and one to Andre Ethier. He settled down thereafter, retiring 10 of the last 12 batters in a five-inning stint where he allowed six runs.

Josh Tomlin, RHP
0-1, 8.31 ERA
Tomlin has been on an abnormal schedule because of rain and off-days. He was used in middle relief on Saturday and struggled against the Royals, allowing six hits and five runs (four earned) over 3 2/3 innings.

Felix Hernandez, RHP
1-1, 3.80 ERA
The Mariners ace suffered his first loss Friday to the A's, but gave up just two runs over seven innings in the 4-0 setback. After facing Oakland three times, he's ready for a new foe and is 5-3 with a 2.80 ERA in 10 career starts against Cleveland.

Had it not been for one guy (Joe Nathan), it looks like the Rangers would be undefeated up to this point.

The ANgels are going to be a good team but if they keep losing and the Rangers keep winning, they are going to dig a pretty big hole, no matter how early it is.

Orioles take 3 of 4 from Chicago. People can point back to the past on our hot starts, but we haven't got the solid pitching we have in recent years, at least I don't remember the guys playing like this. We have had a few rough starts obviously, everyone does, but Hammel for one has been a very nice surprise. He has some pretty nice stuff. I always heard he struggled once he got into the 4th/5th innings, but I haven't noticed that so far. 6 IP, 2 ER, 10 K's today. Arrieta, Hammel, and Chen are all pitching pretty well. Just hope Chen can go deeper than 5-6 innings. Seems to struggle once he hits that 6th inning.
