Should Orlando miss the playoffs if Dwight is done for the season?

The question isn't just should Orlando miss the playoffs, it's also could they even if they wanted to.
The answer is that even if they were totally determined to, it's pretty damn unlikely they could.

Even if they lose the rest of the way and finish 34-32, Milwaukee would have to get to 35-31 to pass them (catching them isn't enough as Orlando won the season series and thus the tiebreaker 4-0). That means Milwaukee need to go 6-1, and they're trailing Indy late in the 3rd tonight with @IND, vsPHI, @BOS to go.

If Orlando win just one game Milwaukee need to go 7-0, which might be ruled out in as little as half an hour. Orlando still have vsCHA, @CLE, vsPHI which are potentially winnable games.

they could lose every game and still be the 7th or 8th seed...

This question makes no sense

Yeah, they are gonna still get in and probably end up with the 16 or 17th pick (which might not be too horrible in a draft such as this)

The only team that loses to Charlotte repeatedly is Toronto.

yea, a really stupid question:facepalm:

This is a stupid, stupid thread.

No.

End of story. They could tank, and lose every game, and probably still make the playoffs. And the difference between draft picks isn't worth missing the playoffs for...

If they won't have Home Court Advantage they shouldn't even play basketball.

Should JB be forced to completely retire if Orlando makes the playoffs? :D

Wouldn't Milwaukee have to basically win out and Orlando lose out for this to even be a possibility?

Well I thought about it because te year they got Shaq they missed the playoffs by one game and then got the top pick and got Webber which they traded and got Penny.

The problem people have isn't that they don't understand why Orlando would want to do it - and we all know the Shaq story - it's that you didn't even bother to check the plausibility before posting a thread.

Milwaukee just lost. They'd have to go 6-0 and Orlando would have to go 0-7 for Orlando to miss the playoffs.

orlando is not missing the playoffs. Period. Maybe they get the 7th seed, but even then, knciks would have to only lose 1 game the rest of the way

JB, i didn't mean to be rude...it's just A) not going to happen and B) it's not worth it. a first round playoff win helps out more than moving up a draft pick or 2...or 3...

We couldn't if we wanted to, the Bucks would have to win everything and we'd have to lose everything; I doubt the stars align that way just so we get a 1% chance in the lottery.

I think you mean "WOULD" insteadof should. Unless you're suggesting that the magic tank?

with 7 games left theres not enough time to tank. Id rather they try and make some noise in the first round.

I mean, the Magic's Magic Number is 1...so yeah. I mean, they don't have Dwight, and now perhaps not even Baby (who's been great lately...and that means Orton is all we got :laugh2:) but a win with 7 games left? That's gonna happen...even better, all it would take is a single loss from MLW, and that's gonna happen too.

I guess I'll be the only spark of optimism for JB. Yes. All we have to do now is tell Stern we are forfeiting.
