Rich Bucher is hardly credible. Also, it seemed to me to be speculation on his part.

Kobe has severe aching on his 6th finger, problem due to missing gold. Doctor prescribes wining one more Larry O'Brien trophy to heal the pain.

If we were in the playoffs, he'd be playing. No doubt.

bucher also said kobe would never play a game again in laker uniform when he asked for a trade back in 07

Let me look into my crystal ball!

I don't know :laugh2: We'll find out. Hopefully it isn't any worse than it's claimed to be...but speculating about it, especially as removed from the situation as all of us are, makes little sense. Just gotta hope there isn't more to it.

I don't see why the Lakers and/or Kobe would hide the truth if it was indeed more serious either...so yeah...

Kobe is going to miss as many games as needed to insure he will get the scoring title. As long as he is not playing his average won't go down. He doesn't want balanced team play to lower his average. But he doesn't mind doing that in the playoffs since he will have the scoring title already and his focus will be on just winning . He'll come back with a game or two left.

It's sad people still care about scoring titles. Counting stats = lame. Sure, he'll win it...i'll take the scorer shooting 50% or better over the one shooting 43% any day of the week, though.

by the way you see things i can comfortably assume for scoring you'd take shaq over anybody else in nba history? personally i wouldn't mind. shaq was a beast. and i can understand why you would rather take a 50% shooter over a 43% shooter. but other things come into play. for example. kobe can score and create FROM ANYWHERE on the floor. lebron can't do that, wade can barely do that.. only a handful of players can do that. kobe, wade, durant, melo etc.. so the degree of their shots are going to be harder. which will bring the fg% a little lower. kobe also forces shots. if kobe wasn't so dumb in his shot selection he'd AVERAGE 50%fg for his career.

well, it's not that simple...and i didn't mean to have it be some simple rule worth extraplating over the history of the sport...

but i will say, who would you take?

28.1 points on 23.2 shots
27.6 points on 19.4 shots
26.8 points on 18.8 shots

not to slight kobe. the notion that he's sitting so he doesn't blow the scoring title is silly in the first place...but if that's true, well, it's just stupid too!

I would take the 27.6 but thats because i know the 27.6 was durant. if i didn't know who either was. then i wouldn't be able to tell you who id want for sure between the last 2. but def kobes is terrible. this is one of kobes worst years. although he still has 'it' he had to many really bad games this season. every season he has like 5 or 6 terrible shooting games. but this season he had like 10, 11, or 12. kobe had some 3 for 20 shooting games. but he also had a ton of 13 for 18, 10 of 15, 15 of 24 etc shooting games. but the amount of off shooting games he had this season really ruined him. in fact look at his last 3 games before he took a game off. he shot 60% in that stretch of 3 or 4 games.
