View Full Version : Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera as co-MVPs?

I know it is early but Fielder and Cabrera have been killing it this year. Fielder as of this post has a OPS of 1.059 and Cabrera has an OPS of 1.339. I really think these two can make the Tigers a World Series contender this year. The sport of baseball has only had co-MVPs once. Is it reasonable for me to think that they could be co-MVPs this year?

No, it's not reasonable. Nor is it reasonable to make a thread about co-MVP's on April 13th.

well see what happen during the season. 6-7 games is way to low to judge MVPs

Fielder will never win an MVP. Cabrera, Adrian Gonzalez, and Pujols are better than him.

I love how people get all sarcastic and hot-headed when a thread they do not like is created. If you feel the topic of conversation is not in your liking, than do not comment on it. The guy said "I KNOW ITS EARLY" he is asking a hypothetical question about whether anyone here thinks it can happen again.

As for me, yes I do think it can happen again. Whether it may be Fielder/Cabrera will be determined at seasons' end.

Early or not, I think there's been a co-MVP once in history in 1979, so if anyone thinks that MCab and Prince will end the voting with the exact same amount of votes, than yes, it's possible. Not very likely though. Are those two players both MVP candidates? Of course they are.

I do think it is too early for this, but I do believe that it is possible for another year with co-mvp's.

Braun and Kemp shoulda been co-MVPs last year in the NL and Bautista and Verlander shoulda been co-MVPs in the AL.

If you have 2 guys in the MVP discussion, then neither one is the MVP.

You should be talking about Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier being Co-MVP's

Kemp .419, 3HR, 11RBI's
Ethier .310, 2HR, 13RBI's

1 and 2 in RBI's with Kemp leading the NL in avg

Kemp and Ethier are the best 3-4 in Baseball (When Mattingly does play them 3-4)

No to the OP and no to the guy right above me (Fielder and Miggy are the best 3-4)

So if you say beforehand "Hey I am going to shoplift" to the store manager its cool?

Josh Willingham has an OPS of 1.458.

I wanna play too! Kottaras of the Bucks has a 2.027 OPS.

Seriously though I think Miguel Cabrera should and probably will win MVP.
