San Antonio.

They are both veteran, battle tested teams... which is one of the strengths SA provides over many of the younger inexperienced teams. The Mav's will give SA fits on both ends and vice versa... It will be a good series to watch, however.

Pretty sure no one fears Dallas this year.
Then again that was the case last year so who knows?

dallas isnt a threat, i think both teams would actually prefer to play dallas

Doesn't matter really.

The Thunder and the Spurs should be able to beat them.

I hate playing Dallas. They always play their best vs us. The last 2 times we've met the team with home court has lost. While I think our chances are much better this year, they are a team I would not mind avoiding.

As a Mavs fan...

I don't see us being a threat to anyone this season. We let our key players walk so that we can get Deron Williams this offseason. See you guys this time next year.

We'll face anybody. Doesn't matter, the better the opponent, the easier it actually gets. Expectations are lower for Dallas to win and opponent will problaby have more "respect" than a weaker team/underdog.

I don't think think they stand a chance versus either team, but then again SA lost in the first round last season while OKC got thoroughly beat by them. So who knows.

Yup, clearly you don't want to finish with one of the top 2 records in your conference. You want to be a 7 or if your lucky enough a 8 seed

I wouldn't count Dallas out. Their defense is much worse, but Nowitzki can still catch fire at any time.

I swear, people are still butt-hurt about the Mavs destroying everyone last year.

Spurs. OKC is too fast.

not a mavs fan, but youre crazy if you think both teams wouldnt be better off avoiding Dirk in the first round. I think both OKC and SA would likely beat the mavs in a 7 game series, but I think the mavs would get an upset a non zero % of the time. Denver and Houston would lose to both teams 100% of the time in 7.

I don't think either team should avoid Dallas. I see the Spurs weakness in the playoffs as the big man combinations of Ibaka/Perkins, Bynum/Gasol, Gasol/ZBo or Jordan/Griffin, the Mavs don't have that type of combination without Chandler. In regards to the Thunder, they are playing fantastic basketball.

I guess if I had to choose one, I'd choose the Spurs because they're 2-2 against Dallas this year.

The Mavs are no where near what they were with the loss of Chandler. They'll get blown out, no concerns for either team

dallas is done. no chandler, no ring.

Both teams would beat Dallas in a 7-game series, so I doubt it makes a difference to either team.

Sadly the Mavs suck but I think Spurs are a better fit for them.OKC is to young and to fast.

I think we match up better against OKC honestly. I don't think we will beat either team the way were playing however no one took us seriously last year.

Neither team wants to play Dallas, I promise you that. Even if they beat the Mavs, it won't be easy. We play both of those teams extremely well. Could beat either one of them.

There are Mavs fans on this site?! Ow Lawdy, it's a miracle :D

Just kidding around man.

As for the question. I think they would prefer OKC. Dirk can go to town on Ibaka, while Duncan is a HOF, has much more experience guarding Dirk, and Pulling Ibaka out of the paint as Dirk would do, could cause some serious problems as I'm not exactly sure how good Perkins is defensively.

Either way, I don't see them passing either. OKC in 6, SAS in 5 if they draw dallas.

So? Most everyone in this forum was talking about how much the Blazers wanted to play Dallas and that Portland was going to destroy them in the first round.

Seeding means very little, almost nothing. The difference between 3 and 9 this year is what, 4 games? Something like that. The Mavs could go on a 3 game winning streak and be the third seed again if other teams went on a losing streak. It's all about how you're playing, not about the seed you are.

The Lakers were the #2 seed last year against the Mavs, and we all saw how much that helped them.

I do think the Jokelahoma Blunders would win this time vs the Mavs.. Seriously, I dont think the Mavs would make that much of an impact in this year's postseason.
