So if the season ended today... the Knicks own the 7th seed and the Heat own the 2nd seed what would happen?

Lakerhead4ever
04-10-2012, 03:41 PM
depends on amare and lin.

how long are they out for??

If the knicks started the playoffs today, without lin or stat, they get swept. Not trying to hate or bash, its just the reality of it IMO.

Now if those guys are healthy, then who knows.

If the season ended today they wouldn't have both of them... but if its when the playoff starts... Lin is doubtful and Amare is on schedule to return for the 1st round

With Lin and Amare I can see it going 6 tops without them or a injured Amare Heat sweeps

THE MTL
04-11-2012, 04:48 AM
Eh, not as epic as it would seem. The timetable on Amare is still up in the air and Lin def isnt going to make it.

But I could only imagine a playoff series.

Lin/Amare/Melo vs. Wade/Bron/Bosh. EPIC SERIES!

blastmasta26
04-11-2012, 05:04 AM
Only a good series if the Knicks are healthy and motivated. Otherwise, Miami would destroy.

I will say though, this is one of the more entertaining Knick troll threads...5 game series!

I think the Knicks could steal 1 but the Heat would take the series. Knicks have a good collection of talent but I think they can do damage if someone tells JR Smith to stop taking so many shots!

Now, if Lin and Amare are ready to go at 100%, maybe it's the Heat in 4. Lin probably won't play till at least round 2 if the Knicks get there and Amare will probably not be 100% with the disk problem.

ManningToTyree

Heat in 5. Melo goes off to steal a game but the Heat would dominate

I wish the first round went back to 5 game series.

Me too I wish they never made the change. Who cares if an upset is more likely like the Knicks over the Heat in 99. 7 games is too long for the first round and if the higher seed can't get up and take 3 games then so be it. I never understood the change. Thats about all that is worth discussing about this thread at this point.

Heat in 5 or 6

I agree.

It's hard to see the Knicks taking the series past 5 (possibly 6) against the Heat unless something bizarre happens and key Heat players get injured early on.

That said, the Heat and Bulls really want the Bucks.

Physical defenses like the Celtics and Knicks increase the chance of player injuries. More running, more cutting, more bump and grind. Derrick Rose ended up injured in both of the last 2 games against us (groin out 12 games, sprained ankle out 1 game so far).

justinnum1
04-11-2012, 03:59 PM
Knicks will chuck, all depends how many of there low % shots go in. If few go in, it will be a sweep, if a lot go in, then probably in 5 maybe 6

Don't tell anyone, but I doubt teams are really concerned about Knicks. They are severely overrated. They chuck, don't rebound well, and don't play as a team. They will get swept by Miami and go at most 5 against the Bulls.

One of the big reasons NY is having success is melo is playing the 4 and creating matchup nightmares for other teams. Bringing amare back will just kill that advantage, his D sucks and those two have shown they dont mesh well together, i think NY has a losing record when melo and amare are playing...

I think they should experiment with Amare off the bench when he returns this season. Let the starting offense revolve around Melo, then let Amare be the focal point of the second unit, preventing stagnancy and JR from chucking too much. Amare may need a reduction in minutes anyway.

justinnum1
04-12-2012, 04:54 PM
