9 innings 4 ks 4 hits 0 walks

He did pretty damn good, but I think the opposition was a Single A team. They're averaging a cool 2.5 runs per game and giving up twice that. It's good to be a Rockie fan!

I smell an extension coming!! The Stopper! LOL

He looked good, had the same stuff he's had the last several years. Rockies just forgot to take BP off Moyer before the game.

04-09-2012, 07:18 PM
He's actually pitched very well in Colorado throughout his career. His last few starts were tough, but prior to that, he looked pretty similar to his performance here. \

04-09-2012, 07:18 PM
Is he on a contract year this season?

In all seriousness, good for Zito. If he can throw 25 more of those this year and next, that contract would almost have been worth it

04-09-2012, 07:25 PM
cool. he still sucks.

04-09-2012, 07:31 PM
Watch Sabean extend the contract. :p

That's incredible... I call fluke, though.

9 innings 4 ks 4 hits 0 walks

Fairly legit.

Col's offense isn't looking good, but it's not like he walked anybody.

What's funny is that one of the clowns (not sure which) from Mason & Ireland (Los Angeles)said, "Zito's pitching, expect a lot of hitting."

By the way, what the **** does 'lolz' mean? Must be a teenage thing.

He still sucks monkey sack!

5 years too late....

Well at least one night he earned his monies.

04-10-2012, 10:18 AM
It all boils down to if he can get strike 1....if he is able to drop that curve in...then it allows him to go in out up down...keep hitters off balance...problem is he has never had consistent control since he has neen here...he gets behind in the count and has to come in with his little leauge fastball the it is all bad...we just need him to eat innings till vogy gets back...wouldnt expect too much more of this...but props to ol zito cause we sure needed the win

04-10-2012, 01:48 PM
I don't know if it's possible for Zito to look great even when he throws a complete game shutout. It's obvious the Rockies didn't prepare for this game and thought they could win solely because Zito was pitching. The Rockies were swinging at everything (that's why Zito had 0 walks), they were late on 79-80 mph cutter/sliders, they were getting blown away by 84 mph fastballs. So, you figure they're sitting on the curveball until you see them swinging at it in the dirt, taking them when he throws it right down the middle and so far out in front of it they could barely hit it out of the infield. I don't like either team so i thought it was hilarious that the rockies were getting shut out by Zito but let's not act like Zito was a different pitcher yesterday than he has been in the previous 4-5 years, Rockies just had no gameplan and they looked foolish.

04-10-2012, 02:54 PM
Whether the Rockies are good or bad, Zito is usually great against them. He hasn't lost to them in years. Sometimes a pitcher or a hitter just does well against certain teams or opponents no matter their usual stats.

Take it for what it was. Very good outing for Zito, more of the same for the Rockies.

I don't know what is up or what is down anymore....

04-10-2012, 07:55 PM
He was so bad in Oakland, glad to see him take majestic form with SF.

04-10-2012, 09:01 PM
This just in. Juan Uribe goes 4-4 with 4 grand slams in a game against the Pirates!

04-10-2012, 09:27 PM
A friend texted me that Zito pitched a complete game shutout and I told him to F off.. I seriously didn't/couldn't believe it... What a surprise... But I expect him to revert back to his ****** ways...

04-11-2012, 12:09 AM
everyone that says "he still sucks" no **** lol us giants fans no better than anyone. when he is on the mound i am always scared

04-11-2012, 10:01 PM
The problem with Zito is he never learned to adjust his pitching style once his skills started to diminish. Hope this is a start to him having a good season.

The Giants could have helped him out by signing Jamie Moyer this year so he could have learned how to pitch with an average set of skils.

04-12-2012, 01:13 PM
He looked like the Zito of old.
