In the Bulls game they said out of 91 isolation attempts opponents have scored 55 points on him while shooting 24%. Every game this guy defends the other teams best 2-3 and has played great.

I really like his defense.

He is 25th best in iso defense, holding players to 0.59 PPP and 22.9 FG%

easily the biggest surprise of this rookie class for me. even more so than isiaiah thomas, who was a stud in college and got overlooked for being tiny. parsons has completely redefined himself as a pro.

Parsons is really becoming a great defender but Kyrie got the ROY locked up IMO

as a rockets fan thats watched every game, kyrie definately has ROY locked up.

but parsons has still been very impressive. hes going to give durant problems in the future, defense-wise. chandler is 6'9'' but very quick. he's gaurded kobe, durant, and rando this year. he's got great versatility on defense, and he can get to the hole on offense.

his shooting is getting better, and will continue to get better. all in all, very smart player. he should have a solid career.

He was the same player in college, not sure how that is a re-definition. He was the SEC player of the year.

haven't seen the Rockets play this year at all, but I do know he's been impressive. I'm surprised he took Budinger's spot so fast and is already better than him.

Morey always makes the most of his 2nd round picks.

who's the best ?

I know Lebron James is 10th best holding players to 0.52 PPP and 22 FG% in iso plays. I don't have full access to Synergy but you can play around with this page to see what players are great defenders in P&R, post, iso, etc.

you get the point. he was a "jack of all trades, master of none" player in college. no one had him profiled as an elite perimeter defender in the making. i didn't say he wasn't good in college.

I'm not saying it isn't surprising he became this good this fast - but he was the best defender for the Gators every year he played. It's not like he was Carmelo Anthony in college and then Bruce Bowen in the NBA on defense.

whatever. i don't think anyone expected him to be an elite defensive player in the NBA, much less half-way through his rookie season. color me impressed.
