My personal opinion - A lot of people were complaining that the Perkins dunk wasn't really a dunk because he didn't touch the rim. Now on the second dunk he did. But then again, a lot of people are finding excuses such as it was an offensive foul. But what about Davis against Kirilenko? Or that Kobe Bryant against Nash? Ya'll haters just salty

They can provide energy and momentum for your team. So yes, in that respect they are helpful. But it is total BS that they don't call the pushing off Blake constantly does with his off arm, especially if its in another players face.

Neither was a foul he just jumps over gasol thats not a foul and the second one it's either blake or pau he's not going to let pau just push him to the ground......and for all of you that say blake is just a dunker he is developing a jump shot you see it some games its only his second year I'm sure he's not comfortable shooting it consistently. Don't forget he does rebound too and last I checked a dunk is the highest percentage shot out there.

Both were fouls on Griffin in my opinion. Blake is cheap... I've actually supported him throughout this year, but he had a play on Gasol that was just not right. Pau goes up for a dunk, and while in air, Blake shoves Pau in the back. That's a dirty play that the NBA has to clean up

LOL

Ok, the first one he seems to be over the back, and in any case he knocks Pau about 10 feet.

The second time is CLEARLY an offensive foul--possibly a "flagrant offensive", if there is such a thing.

He not only charges straight into Gasol, who's feet are set by the way, but he also, laughably, smacks him right in the head with an elbow, then follows through on him as he climbs over for the dunk, knocking Gasol 10 feet yet again.

Look... Gasol is not a flopper. You rarely see that guy lying on the ground. Those were both big hits.

Anyways, I don't feel sorry for Blake anymore, his big publicity thing about how he gets to much contact. I'd enjoy seeing Shaq in his prime just repeatedly dunk on Griffin and knocking him around all game... that would be like basketball-porn.

Both offensive fouls so if the REFs let him do it then guess I no longer have a problem with what Jason Smith did to him. Mr Blake's Face, please meet hardwood floor.

I really thin that kind of play will end his career in the next 2-3 years. In fact, if I was Gasol next time I purposely under-cut him to injure him.. No different then what Griffin did in terms of dirty play. Those plays can herniate your back easily and end your career.

Yeah... I would have called a foul on both plays.
That said, I've noticed (and this is just in watching highlights as I've only seen to Lakers games this year) that Pau seems to be lacking a little hustle on defence this years. I've seen a lot of plays where he gives up on fast breaks and just watched opposing players dunk without coming over to help... anybody whose seen more games noticed this?

Great dunks.

But I can't stand Blake. I can't wait for someone to knock him down (hard foul) and stare him down. Dude needs to learn to have respect for the game. Staring down people after a dunk? And he wonders why people want to foul him. And on top of that they lost lol. But I guess he accomplished his goal.

Exactly, just like the guy in your sig. At the end of the day, Blake Griffin is a bonified poor man's Vince Carter in terms of their unique type of notoriety on the basketball court.

You hate Blake because he stares down people after a dunk and for you, that's disrespectful to the game, yet you want someone to hurt him intentionally and then stare him down and you're fine with it? Hypocrisy at it's finest!

It's not about hurting him, just to kinda wake him up a little bit. Just like if a guy keeps driving in, you want to give a hard foul to make him think twice about driving again.

Blake seems like he needs to be on the other side of that. He has no problem humiliating people after a dunk, but god forbid someone fouls him he has a fit. So when I say that, I say it in a way that will teach him to think twice about how he is with people.

Both incredible displays of athleticism. First one is not over the back because he does not go over the back for the rebound even though there is contact on the dunk. Second one is a blatant push off...but pretty impressive nonetheless.

thank you. He clearly jumped into an established Gasol, that is over the back (though the NBA would never call it on their marketing wonderboy). The second dunk reminded me of Jordan, who would karate chop the defender with his off hand, and somehow draw the foul. Its been allowed for years if you have the right name on the back of your jersey.

Not one to cry foul, but if he weren't a "superstar" BG would have gotten called for over the back on one of those dunks. And if you're going to post the dunks, you might as well post the link to Pau blocking BG's **** that game, too. Fair is fair.

As for everything else, like someone else said, I'm not as impressed by dunks as others. We've been here before: an extremely gifted player develops a bloated fan-dom based primarily on a one-trick repertoire. 3 - 4 years later said player disappears without ever truly impacting the game.

Until he accomplishes something, Blake is just another Vince Carter to me. Usually when you pair two superstars together, the end result should be a ring. Call me when Blake wins a title.

Gasol wanted nothing to do with Griffin, he was straight up abused there. They should've thrown Griffin in jail after the game. Gasol is probably the softest big in the game.

04-06-2012, 06:59 AM
well the NBA has to let him score somehow, because he is a star.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I'd like to see Kobe do this exact move on Blake, drive straight in to him, elbow him in the face, climb over him for the explosive dunk. You know Kobe could do it.

Anything Blake can do, Kobe can do. That should be obvious.

Then, what. Is the league gonna fine Kobe for using Blakes on signature move on him? That would take some serious hypocrisy, right?

Sssmush
04-06-2012, 07:06 AM
Anybody who thinks Kobe couldn't elbow Blake in the face and climb over him for a big slam, raise your hand.

Seriously, if Blake has changed the rules of the game and the league is cool with it, then, bring it on, let's just go with it. Over the back, over the front, leading and hitting with the elbow, lifting off the opponent's head for elevation, pushing the opponents face back in the air, stiff arming in the air.

Seriously, never mind the cheap shots, tripping Blake on a fast break. I wanna see someone just drive the lane and do EXACTLY what Blake did to Pau. I don't think it's very difficult at all, you just elbow to the face and go up and dunk it.
