when ever hearing about the greatest draft classes, ever I hear a lot about the 84', 87' 96' 03' classes and for good reason, the talent was on an epic level, however i feel like the 85 class is under-appreciated, it doesn't get nearly as much talk as the others, do you feel that it is overshadowed by the 84' class and lets be real Jordan? the 85' class had 4 HoF in the first round Ewing, Mullen, Stockten, Durmas, and if it wasn't for age restrictions Sabonis, also all-stars Xavier McDaniel, Charels Oakley, A.C. Green, and Micheal Adams.

Also i fear the epic class of 1970 may have been lost to time and a the lack of interest by a younger generations. What do you all think?

actually, I am pretty sure Stockton was in 84. But yes the 85 draft class was a very good one and IMO does get overshadowed by the 84 class.

Edit: yes Stockton was 84 and went 16 overall. 85 class was still good tho http://www.mynbadraft.com/1984

2008 is pretty sick too.
Most of these player will probably be even better.

Rose, Westbrook, Love, Gallinari, Eric Gordon, Lopez, Hibbert, Mcgee, Ibaka, Batum, Ryan Anderson, Pekovic + a lot of good player who can become really good Augustin, Chalmers, Asik, Mayo, Beasley, Courtney Lee, Dragic, Jason Thompson....

The 2009 NBA draft class was very good and underrated IMO. A lot of people were saying it will be a weak class but they were way wrong.

Griffin, Harden, Evans, Rubio, Curry, Jrue Holiday, Ty Lawson, Brandon jennings, Omri Casspi, derozan, Hansbrough, Taj gibson, terrance williams, Beaubois, Eric maynor, Jeff Teauge, Collison, dejuan blair, sam young.... List goes one and on ... very deep draft class

Yea most people didn't know that Westbrook/love and anybody else from that draft would've turned out to be the stars that they are. Other than Rose of course..

there are several in teh late 60s and in the 70s.

recent ones.

No one ever talks bout 2001.

You can make this 12 man roster Line Up with that draft

Pg :Parker/Arenas
Sg: J Johnson/J Richardson
Sf: G Wallace/S battier/Radmanovic
Pf:Pau/Zach Randolph
C:Ty Chandler/ B Haywood/ Okur

And then you can add it had also Kwame, Murphy, E Curry, Okur, Scalabrine :D ...........

absolutely underrated class.

That's a great idea for a thread... make a starting five or a rotation of 8 from each class and see how they stack up. I'm too lazy to do it but when somebody else does it I'll chime in with my two cents!

1999.

One of the deepest drafts ever.

Didn't mention the names, again not the quality but the quantity :

Manu Ginóbili
Elton Brand
Steve Francis
Baron Davis
Lamar Odom
Wally Szczerbiak
Rip Hamilton
Andrei Kirilenko
Shawn Marion
Jason Terry
Ron Artest
Corey Maggette
Andre Miller

And still had rotation guys like James Posey, Jeff Foster, Kenny Thomas, Devean George etc.
