Anybody have any info on where he ends up or if Hornets will spend the money to retain him?

i can see the celtics possibly being interested if the price is right and shows any signs of actually being healthy

I'd love to see him in Phoenix. He'd be the #1 option, and have the best playmaker sharing the backcourt with him.

EDIT: That's assuming Eric Gordon is enough for Steve Nash to re-sign.

Raptors maybe if we fall out too much and gotta draft a pg... Shift derozan to SF... Don't see Davis back.

Gordon/Bayless
Derozan/J.Johnson
Bargnani/J.Johnson/A.Johnson
JV/A.Johnson

Also, Boston and Indiana will likely make runs for him.I give Indiana the edge since he has history there. If he does leave, then Stern "Sterned" the Hornets lol

I do recall he is restricted so I highly doubt he goes anywhere. if not though then the hornets have no chance of keeping him

Hornets will just match any offer unless it's something outrageous.

But even then, they'll probably match.

Signing with the Heat for the min.

He is heading to Indiana if Indiana wants him. He is initially from there. He is a restriced fa which means he can sign wherever and then the hornets have to match. Pacers could offer something lower than the max and I bet Gordon would sign. If Hornets were to match look for the Pacers to offer up Granger and a pick for Gordon. Granger is from the New Orleans area. The pacers would then move Paul George to his more natural position of sf.

Collison/Hill
Gordon/Hill
George/
West/Hansbrough
Hibbert/ Oden- thats a different story for a different time... but it could and should happen.

hopefully the wolves can get him.

Does anyone actually think that the Hornets, especially if still league owned, are going to let him go somewhere else? He is a restricted free agent and the Hornets can match. I don't think there is a contract that any other team can give him that the Hornets will not match.

The best thing Gordon can do, if he wants to leave New Orleans, is not sign any offer sheet this year and wait to become an unrestricted free agent next year. If he signs an offer sheet anywhere else, he will be in New Orleans under the terms of that deal.

His only other option is to request/demand a trade. The league has to save as much face as possible with the debacle that was the Chris Paul dealings. They made their choice to make Eric Gordon the center piece of the trade. They have to make sure he is still there, or at the very least, signed and traded somewhere else and receive something.

It would look so bad on the NBA if they didn't match whatever he's offered.. It would turn the CP3 trade into basically Chris Paul for a lottery pick and Al-Farouq Aminu.

I don't think it's a given Gordon will be with the Hornets in the future, but it is a given we re-sign him. Now whether it's a situation where it's a sign and trade or we sign and keep him is the question. However there's no way we let him walk for nothing unless he signs his tender and take a huge gamble.

I wouldnt be shocked to see him wait the year and become an unrestricted FA next year. Why waste your time signing an offer sheet to leave NO when they are going to match anything you get and you will be stuck there?

If he were to be able to leave, NJ would probably throw a lot of money at him in an attempt to appease Deron

I can't speak for Gordon, but after missing almost an entire year due to injury your going to turn down 50-60 million just to make it somewhere else? He almost would be turning down more money per year than he's made for all his years combined.

If the Clippers managed to get back Eric Gordon and Chris Kaman, then yes.

It wouldn't matter where they go... The players playing for the Hornets from that trade would be the lotto pick and Aminu, so that's basically what the trade would be.

CudiOnMyiPod

I mean, I bet New Orleans will match. He most likely will be a top 5 scorer in the NBA, especially with the Hornets. He has talent to be a big star.

If they for some reason do not match, Dallas would be a good option. Terry might leave, we have no good SG. He'd be a great backup plan to D-Will. Maybe they get both?

If i was him i would refuse to sign any offer and force the hornets to offer him the qualifying to be an UNRESTRICTED fa in 2013.

Ive never understood why players are stupid and almost NEVER take that path.-

Money. It means forfeiting $6M or so for one year to control your destiny outright. Most players have taken to the model of money now, whine and try to force a trade later.

He has serious knee issues. That would be an idiotic move for him. He needs to take whatever kind of big contract he can get, because there's a good chance it will be his first and last one.

I think he will still be in NOLA for the next four years after this one however the wolves fan in me wishes we could sign and trade for him so the hornets still get something for him. Derrick Williams and Jazz pick for Gordon and Ariza (or not, only if NOLA want to get out of his contract)

Hornets then build around Williams, aswell as the two lottery selections they get in this deep draft. Knowing the lottery too the wolves pick will end up top three haha

the first year of money is really not the reason...

the reason he will sign a sheet is because he is injury prone and the contract is guaranteed...

Eric Gordon has been hurt constantly... he would be stupid not to lock up the guaranteed money
