Even Crawford has a chance to be a very good lefty reliever. Anthony Gose said that he was the best pitcher in the organization (obviously a huge exaggeration but still high praise). At the 30 spot Im going with someone who is has a decent chance to be a quality reliever with the upside of maybe a Scott Downs ahead of some kid in low A ball who is still just a lottery ticket.

If you go see the Osuna video of him pitching an inning in Lansing last night striking out the side about Michigan State, many of you may want to move Osuna higher....WAY HIGHER...like top 10 now. I think it was one off and he moves to Vancouver, but he looked like Felix Hernandez on the mound .. smooth delivery and fastballs were hitting 95 mph! Oh yeah -- HES 17! Felix started in Mid A at 17 and ended up in High A. Do you think the Jays go this route with Osuna? He did play professional ball in Mexico with guys who were 10-20 years his age.

I think if they leave him in Lansing and he dominates like Felix did and moves to High A (or heck even if they move him down to Bluefield or Vancouver) and ends up in Lansing -- he becomes, in my opinion, even the #1 prospect for the Jays heading into 2013...

PS- can we sticky this thread for the season? Will be interesting to see how we voted and compare the Jays prospects throughout the year..I dont know if everyone wants to look and search for this and this was a 2 month voting process...anyone else agree to sticky?

Think you could edit this into the first page of the prospects thread or something? It'd be nice to have it still hanging around when this thread eventually dies.

I think you're jumping the gun. No way do we see Osuna in Lansing at all this year. He'll be starting in the GCL like Cardona did last year.

I like Osuna very much as well (if I'm not mistaken he's still 16 and doesn't turn 17 until July) but since AA has taken over the Jays have been much more patient with moving prospects through the organization. At the very best Osuna might get a sniff of Lansing near the end of 2013 much like Nicolino and Syndergaard did last year.

I have Osuna as a top 5 raw prospect in our system, he drops down to top 25-30 based on how little professional experience he has. We have no idea if he will even hold his own in Double A, let alone the majors. He's just way too far away to give him that luxury already.
