Could Westbrook and Durant both average 30 ppg in a season while still on the same team?

That would be incredible. I dont think it will ever happen thou.

No. It probably would end up being counter-productive towards winning. You need other guys to be able to score to be a solid and balanced team.

I mean, they probably could do it, it just won't happen...nor should it.

No way,No how. It's hard for 1 player to average 30 a season, but for 2 players on 1 team to average 30 is absurd, they would have to take close to 25 shots a game to come close.

There is no reason for them to average so many points, with the supporting cast that they have. I agree with the posters who say it would be counter productive.

If D-Wade and Bron can't do it I don't see Westy and Durant doing it... It's possible but pretty much improbable.

We will see if this is true come playoff time for the heat because they are pretty much a 2 man show on offense most nights.

They're a 3 man show. Harden plays 30+ minutes a game and is a great offensive player. He's as good of a third option as most teams have...

They don't get much scoring from anyone else, and that's why I laugh every team people act like Westbrook is holding this team back because he (has to) score a lot.

There will be games in the playoffs where they score 60 points between them...probably a bunch of them. But for a whole season, for both of them to average 30 points, they just wouldn't be as good. Even though they don't have many other scorers, there has to be some balanced on offense, and there is just enough on this team to make them a top 3 team in the NBA.

With the starting 5 we have and the lack of opportunities they get, Certaintly. I hope it never comes to that, i hope the mroe we grow and mature as a team both of their scoring averages go down.

It could happen. I mean Westbrook is at 24.5 and Durant is at 27.7.

Which two teammates have been closest to doing that? I don't feel like doing any research right now.

They could probably to it with ease, as could Lebron and Wade... But as some have already said, it'd hurt the team more than help it.

I just noticed that Westbrooks apg are 3 this season. He should be around 8-9 IMO like he was last year but he is at 5

When Westbrook heard Durant was working on passing more he decided he would do the opposite and pass less while shooting more :p

Possibly but the team would not be as good or well rounded.

Kobe and Shaq both averaged 28.5ppg in the 2000-01 season, but they needed to, there weren't any scoring options on the team outside of those two guys... The Thunder have Harden, who's a great and consistant playmaker/scorer and they also have Ibaka who can erupt for 20+pts on any given night.

That damn Russell Westbrook is a talented dude. They are exciting to watch.

If anything, Westbrook's ppg should decrease a bit so he becomes an all-around PG. I'm not sure about you guys, but I would prefer 3 guys who could all go for 20, than two guys who go for 30... playoff time, when there are elite defenders out there, it's likely that one of two would be shut down.
