I tried to stay gentle, didn't want to throw the Snider, Gose, D'Arnaud and Hutchison for "INSERT STARTING PITCHER HERE"

There's enough of these damn April fools jobs on my facebook. No room for them here.

One of my friends put on his status there was a 6/49 jackpot winner last night ticket sold at convient store where i buy my tickets. Had me digging to check my tickets

Knew it was an April Fool's joke -- good laugh though, i guess he's always an option but the Jays have a stacked rotation and this spring helped alleviate some of the critics on this board who complained of the lack of options for this rotations -- guys like Hutch, Jenkins and McGuire pitched well and stepped up! Drabek has as well. Tons of options!

Though, if the Jays can get Oswalt for maybe $4 million or so, I would maybe take him on for a year and see if he can get back to his old self -- or close to it at least.

Roy Oswalt isn't even that good, so I wasn't that excited.

I'm happy this is a joke. I would be ****ing pissed if signing Oswalt is what Beeston considers "going for it"

I love Oswalt, but this was a pointless joke. He's nothing special anymore. Had you said like Clayton Kershaw or something I would have freaked out and then have been let down.

u know oswalts a free agent...and theres nothing to lose...hes an experienced pitcher that can get wins...whats the loss...really?

Good one, but the best I've heard was when team 1040 Vancouver had pavel bure on the station to play along saying he had signed with the team and was coming out of retirement. Sooooo good.

Agreed. It was obvious and not even something I'd want the Jays to do.

Relief.

I don't want Oswalt.

I'd much rather see what we have in Drabek, McGowan and Cecil and see McGuire or Hutch up in September than give up a rotation spot to a fossil.

You had me there until you put "Beeston says we are going for it!"

i actually said "no way" when i read this in a cynical, distrusting way. thank you for validating my bitterness jerkhole. i agree with you guys though, oswalt wouldn't be anything special in the a.l east. we really could use some help on our staff, take a look at scott carson's projections (jays brodcast stats guy), he says romero will have 12 wins with a 4.37 era :( http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/2012/04/02/toronto_blue_jays_2012_projections/

Those aren't Carson's projections, he is merely commenting on Bloomberg Sports' projections.

the bloomerg predictions are stupid. Every single player regresses. they stick close to all the hitters numbers.

im expecting romero to regress but no more than a mid 3 era.
