All time, has to be Ernie Banks.

Active, the best I can come up with off the top of my head is Andrew McCutchen.

Who are the best historical and active players to never make the playoffs?

Derek Jeter

Edit: I don't know why I do that. I'll give a real answer tomorrow when I'm not half asleep.

You're gonna find way more old timers who fit the description since there was fewer teams that qualified for the postseason, and there was much less player movement.

Of active players, King Felix is one.

Ted Williams is probably the best player to never win a World Series ring.

But that doesn't answer the question

He doesn't count.

Has Ichiro made the playoffs? He actually made it in 2001 (his first year) as Seattle won 116 games

I'd say Felix, but he is only 25, so his time will come. That's a tough question though...

2 years ago, I would have said Roy Halladay, of course he has been now.

Nick Markakis is truly all I can think of.

I know Felix has been brought up, but he also has a lot of time to get there, and probably will.

Some will count Stephen Strasburg, but he hasnt been in baseball long enough to make that determination, Im sure he will get in eventually.

I'd say Ted Williams. I like Teddy more anyways and then Bonds has the big * .
