Phoenix Suns forward Grant Hill could be done for the season with a meniscus tear in his right knee that requires surgery, the Arizona Republic reported Friday.

Hill, the oldest player in the league at age 39, underwent arthroscopic surgery in September on the knee. He will have the procedure Friday morning, and likely will be out until at least mid-April, the Republic reported.

Hill is averaging 10.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 29.2 minutes per game for the Suns (25-26). He has missed just five games this season; the team is 1-4 without him in the lineup.

Phoenix is two games out of the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.

"He's our glue guy," Suns guard Jared Dudley said Wednesday night, according to the newspaper. "He calms us defensively. He's the best defensive player. He's the one who guarded Chris Paul at home and slowed him down. Offensively, he is efficient and gets out on the break and that makes other people guard him and open up 3-pointers. He posts up and makes the extra pass."

At 39 I'm surprised they aren't listing it as a career threatening injury. Hope he heals well and can continue to play at a high level.

If by stole you mean had debilitating injuries that the magic's medical team failed to monitor and even in injury worked as a great ambassador for the franchise then yes thats accurate.

you act like he intended to get injured. In fact, the guy almost died from his injuries, give him a break.

Don't retire.

Sucks, the dude was always hurt or some kind of injury. He had potential to be a top 10 player all-time.

He's gonna resign with Nash and Hill next off season after we sign Eric Gordon and Batum.

Best perimeter defender in the NBA.

meniscus tear isn't that serious, he should be back and be as productive as this year next season.
