Go as deep as you want but split this decade into 2 5-year intervals, format is the standard G-G-F-F-C

Remember, anything beyond the 09 Season (Kobe's first MVP Year) is considered part of the new decade and shouldnt be counted here.

Im curious to see where people stand on a few matters, this is the best way to illustrate those answers.

Yeah yours looks good, don't really see any issues with it. I'm going to do some digging into the #'s before I decide on mine.

PS- My fellow Knicks fans will probably call you names for leaving Carmelo off. Just warning you lol. I don't disagree with you leaving him off though- the forwards you chose have accomplished more.

I'd probably swap Parker (1 FMVP, 2 rings, 3x All-Star, 3rd team All-NBA in 2009) for Billups in your 2005-09 3rd team, but apart from that, everything else looks decent.

Switch KG and Dirk on the 2005-2009 era. From 04-07, KG's wolves were a laughing stock while Dirk kept the Mavs in contention as the clear leader with 50 plus wins even with the departure of Nash in 04.

I like the lists... but I'm curious as to how anyone could say Nash is underrated? He's a 2 time MVP. Did you mean just on PSD?

I think he was referring to the period before he won MVP, when he was on the Mavericks.

Yup

People act like Nash was transformed in PHX, which he was, but only because of how little respect he got before.

Forgot about Vince, Im taking that as a bad sign for him. Looking it up tho in a head 2 head vs the guy I took (Karl Malone) he had the greatest season but Karl Malones bests every other year from Vince.

I wont even ask what Melo did to deserve that placement.

Are these teams meant to play as a unit? Or just rated on PPG... and bling?

I wouldn't have AI on any actual team myself, but stat wise he's there.

it's like an All-NBA team. they aren't meant to be a unit it's just best players in the league during that time.

Yeah, I thought VC was a better player from 2000-2004. Also my reasoning behind Melo is, for one, he always got his squad to playoffs and started performing in Playoffs around 2006. Pau was majority a second option as was amare.

well thats against the rules... if it was up to me, I'd say you have to do pg, sg, sf, pf, c only.

NJBASEBALL22

i'd go

99/00-03/04
pg- Kidd pho/njn 16/6.7/9.6 2.1 steals 40/32/82
sg- Kobe lal 26/6/5.5 1.7 steals 46/33/84
sf- TMac tor/orl 25.5/7/5 1.4 steals 1.2 blocks 45/36/76
Pf- KG min 22.7/12.5/5 1.7 blks 1.4 steals 49/31/77.4
C- Shaq lal 27/12/3.3 2.6 blks 57.8/00/53.9

My defense for KG is, if this is the team that is playing. KG is more disruptive against SF/PF slots. Duncan's defensive value comes on the blocks... which is where Shaq is planted. KG can also do more on offense, maybe not as efficient in the post (not bad though) but once again, that is where Shaq is planted. KG compliments Shaq better on O and D- while putting up just as good numbers as Duncan. Maybe KG at SF and Duncan at PF... that's do-able but maybe stretching it.

I don't know if I misunderstood what you wrote or not, but Duncan is one of the best post/on ball defenders of this generation. He is not really a shot blocker. Guy was all defense the first 13 years of his career, and not cause of his shot blocking. He's one of the smartest guys to play the game. He doesn't leave his feet a lot or gamble, and always seems to have good positioning. Not to mention he was a terrific help defender.

In all honesty, I think KG is regarded as a much better defender cause he does all that talking, and yelling, etc... They think he's got more passion. That's simply not the case. Till this day, both guys are better defenders than all these PF's in the game. I think TD would compliment Shaq just as well as KG.

Smart !!! Very Smart !!!! Kobe is simply a product of NBA promotion. !!!!!!! It is not smart to credit one player with the entire team's efforts and performance. Winning a ring is a team's effort. Who led the NBA in scoring and in steals in the same season during 2000 and 2004 ????

You did misunderstand. By on the blocks, I meant in the post. The low posts are sometimes referred to as the blocks. Whereas KG could defend the 3, 4 and 5, TD was pretty much guarding the 4's and 5's in the post.
