what seed do you think the t-wolves have to be for love to be seriously considered an MVP candidate?

I would personally say 6th seed would proabbly be enough for him to be seriously considered, especially with the injuries his team has faced(rubio) and the lack of talent in comparison to the Heat and Thunder

how high do you think they have to be?

I think a playoff birth should suffice. The talent on that team is scarce (mostly prospect and role players).... Also, what's with the name lol

With Lebron and Durant seemingly running away with the award, I was thinking if he could get them to the 3-4-5 seed then he would get the award.

Given most people in PSD said Nash wouldn't be a candidate if the Suns made the playoffs, equal at best supporting cast, you won't get much support on this one. Or people are hypocrites.
Realistically though, if they made it, I'd have him in the top 5.

A serious candidate? Playoffs. To actually win, it'd take a miracle. Kevin Love isn't exactly the money-making, marketing machine that Lebron and Durant are.

I think a winning record should do it even if they miss the playoffs.

I think it's possible that the Wolves still make the playoffs.. they just need to win 2 or 3 or 4 in a row right now and they are right back in the mix.. hell, they are only 2 and a half out of the 7th seed

so if they make the playoffs i think Love will get a few votes.. he wont win tho unfortunately

Ok, can we all just put down the bongs for a second... Never mind, I know that's a hard thing to do for everybody :D

He has no chance at winning it, but should receive enough votes to be in the top 4 if the Wolves make the playoffs. They would have had to get homecourt advantage for a realistic shot at MVP.

Its not mathematically impossible in the slightest for the Wolves to still make the playoffs. Will they? Eh, its around a 30% chance.

The TWolve would have to be atleast top 5 in the West for him to be considered.

The Magic were 4th last season in the East, with Dwight's numbers better than Rose's across the board, but he finished 2nd in MVP voting... If your team isn't atleast top 3 in the conference, you don't have a shot at winning MVP.

Currently, Love has demonstrated an amazing potential. He has played great to merit consideration for ??????

If Ninnisota makes the Playoff !!! He is going to be a Dominating Center in the NBA. His potential is immense. I like his game a lot. Give him a player like Iverson and he will go deep in the playoffs. Kevin Love got game and can be an MVP.

Isn't there some stat where all MVP winners have been at least 2nd in their conference or won their division?

Something like that would have to be enough with the way LeBron and Durant are playing.

I feel like LeBron/Durant have this locked up already. They'd have to go on an absurd winning streak to end the season with him averaging around 30 ppg/14 rpg and finishing in the top 4. That would be his only chance.

The funny thing is the stats are possible, but with that banged up lineup, the win streak isn't.

The Wolves would need a top 4 seed at the very least to even have a chance.

Lebron and Durant are too far ahead.

Kevin Love is the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER in the league, and no one can argue that. There are a lot of elite players, but no one player is more valuable to his team, and is flat out the absolute best player at his position that Kevin Love. M-V-P.

I would say 6th seed and win the 1st round of the playoffs to be a seriously contender for MVP. Right now Kevin Love is sitting at 4th for MVP this year.

His chances are done for this year.... At the minimum they have to be a top 3 seed which means winning the division.

Wade was averaging like 30 and 7 assists, over 1 block and on 50% FG 3 years ago with a 5th seed, 43 wins and he realistically got little to no MVP consideration. So using that as a barometer Love should need 55+ wins (regular schedule) and a top 3 seed in the west

He is not more valuable than LeBron or Durant or a bunch of other players, so it won't matter which seed they get. Heck, it could be argued that Rubio is more valuable than him
