Not really any great games, but I think a few could prove to be pretty entertaining.

I think it will be a good one. Heat might be a little flat and Indy is rested. It's also at Indy and Indy I'm sure will get up more to play Miami than Miami gets up to play Indy...

Knicks vs. Bucks is probably the most important game of the season so far in all truth. Bucks up 2-0 in the season series, knicks need to win because the Bucks sched gets easier, while the Knicks sched gets tougher

Raptors-Magic should be interesting. Toronto seems to play them hard, regardless of what their record is, and when they win, I will troll the living **** out of ManRam. Just kidding man, hope the date goes well :D

Heat/Pacers and Bucks/Knicks should both be really interesting, especially the latter since Amar'e is out and those teams are battling for 8th.

What's happened to Miami's defense lately? Also, they need to stop getting bullied on the boards...and TOs aren't a joke any more. They shoot the ball well, they get to the line well...all that's holding that offense back are TOs and offensive rebounding...and they are holding it back a lot at times.

lackadaisical effort, also as bad as the defense has looked, we have somehow improved to #2 in fg% allowed, from like 7 a few weeks ago.

The entire team is awful lately. IDK if it's a slump, or what, but obviusly the first factor is the lack of energy and effort.

Bosh awful, Lebron too passive(slump, injury or tired IDK), Wade disinterested taking to many J's, Chalmers can't buy a basket, Cole with the rookie mistakes and awful shot selection, Battier see Chalmers, only guys playing well are Turiaf, Haslem and Joel. :sigh:

I thought the supporting cast would be better, but I'm not sure it has been. Still some glaring holes on that starting 5, and the bench is wildly inconsistent. If they meet up with the Bulls that's gonna be a problem so long as it doesn't improve.

ManRam

Jameer Nelson heating up lately. There was a lot of talk about how he wasn't in top shape earlier in the season...which might explain his awful shooting (for his standards). He's been getting better...and that really might be a difference maker. I still think that there isn't a more important player on offense for the Magic than him. He's about the only creator we have....and he hasn't been doing much of that, nor shooting well, most of the season.

Not quite sure what you mean by this comment. I mean of course they're supposed to get high usage( the big 3) but I mean the role players just do not hit open shots and haven't for the last 5-6 games. On top of horrible play their defense has been even worse.

Oddly enough the only player outside of the big 3 that has played well lately is our newest guy.

Bosh isn't that bad of a rebounder. His TRB% hurts him because he's a pick and pop PF who isn't always around the basket. So he's not getting a lot of ORB.

Yeah I'll have to agree when they played OKC Battier was open for so many shots and didn't hit very many at all. Played great D though but I get your point on them just not hitting shots.

Battier's D lately has been a 50/50 ordeal, either he plays great D or horrible D. However on Offense, Cole, Battier, Chalmers, Haslem, Joel, Bosh, and Miller have been atrocious. And as much I love the Heat I don't seem that improving and I see it costing them a championship.

Also Lebron looks hurt.

I blame Spo's defensive philosophy. You can't double team every single player who touches the ball and expect the opposing team to miss wide open 3s.

That's very trye. Also, so long as Jameer keeps playing well, our two best players play the positions that the Heat are very weak at. I don't think we'd beat them in 7...but I'd love a shot. They scare me a lot less than Chicago.

Chicago's defense, depth, coaching and discipline is terrifying.

Agreed Lebron doesn't look right... Honestly he needs to not be stupid and rest up if he is hurt. Wade can handle the load and hopefully that will get the bench chemistry going again since they will be needed more but if LBJ goes into the playoffs hurt... Game over.

Magic going for 125 tonight!

Amazing what moving the ball and not just isoing and watching the guy who is isoing can do for an offense. The Raptors aren't a great defensive team (not as bad as they've been in recent years)...but still. When the ball moves, we're a good offensive team. When it doesn't, we're awful (hence all the 60-75 point games this year).

ManRam
03-26-2012, 09:06 PM
Well, yeah.

What do you expect though? 3 near maxes isn't going to leave a lot of room for much else.

They made their bed.

Well...the plan I'm sure was to bring in vets and MLE players the next few years to fill it out. It just isn't working.

They made their bed, for sure. I said on day one it would take over a year to fill out that roster...and I thought they had something good coming into the season, but a lot of guys have under-performed. So long as they're there, they will bring in guys willing to take discounts. So there is hope.

They still need Mike Miller to be their star 6th man. He just can't stay healthy. ..and hasn't totally earned it.

Definitely a more flawed team than Chicago or OKC.

Forbes was such a great grab for us he's starting to get more minutes now... I can't wait to see our squad next year when we add in Jonas and our top 5 draft pick (if we get that and this game helps).

Gotta grab those rebounds Miami...and it seems like they never do. That Chicago game without Rose, and all of Chicago's offensive boards, really should have got the message across to them...

Not good, from either. Take Chalmers out and the Heat basically have no other form of scoring...

Honestly I credit the indy defense more than the heat having a bad offensive night. On that last play james tried to fake one of the indy players to jump into him which didn't work and he was force to pass it to Wade who had to heave up an airball.

It's some damn good defense going on out there tonight.

The biggest problem, though...and it reared its ugly head in the Chicago game.

43-28 rebounding. The Pacers have 14 offensive rebounds...

With Anderson and Howard rebound on the offensive glass...so long as we hit open shots, I'm (foolishly?) optimistic about a second round match up right now...

Bosh leaving points on the table at the line too. What a joke.

Not only that, but when you sit them down even with 2-3 minutes left you allow them to watch it and it can be a motivating move at that point. It's like he's scared to coach them the way they need to be. Like Bosh? 1 rebound? He should've been benched the whole 4th. Guarantee next game he comes back with a double double

Chandler Parsons has such a solid all-around game (mainly offensively...defensively he's meh). Didn't think he'd be starting games and logging 30+ minutes this early...but I think he can hang around. Surprised his shot hasn't been better...that should be one of his strengths.

his defense is what got him playing time.

he was shooting about 30% at the line at the beginning of the year. prob is he supposedly doesn't have a high ceiling but he's smart. hope he develops.

Yes you are 100% right they need some tough love. I think it would make them a better team in the end if you start holding guys accountable no matter what the name on the back of the jersey says.

I have a really hard time envisioning Mike drawing the defensive assignment on the opposing teams best offensive threat on most nights. That's essentially what Parsons has done this season and his defense has been great.
