View Full Version : All NBA Teams?

With us nearing the final leg of the season, let's take a look at how the All NBA teams should shape up. I'm more curious who you guys think should comprise the three squads, not so much who you think the media will inevitably choose.

All 3 teams - GG/FF/C format:

Here's a good list of per-game/advanced stats for comparison: http://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2012_leaders.html (http://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2012_leaders.html)

Mine as of now:

1st Team:

(G) Chris Paul
(G) Russell Westbrook
(F) Kevin Durant
(F) Lebron James
(C) Dwight Howard

2nd Team:

(G) D. Wade
(G) Kobe (went back and forth between him and Tony Parker)
(F) Kevin Love
(F) Lemarcus Aldridge
(C) Andrew Bynum

3rd Team:

(G) Steve Nash
(G) Tony Parker
(F) Kevin Garnett
(F) Dirk Nowitzki
(C) Marc Gasol

Plenty to pick apart in my list, but I think it's all defensible. D. Rose can earn his way back up there in place of Nash if and when he returns.

Mix of factors, but basically because I still think that despite Kobe's propensity for chucking in 4ths, his overall skill level/impact still has Tony one upped; same for Wade/Cp3/Westbrook. But like I mentioned, I went back and forth with TP on 2nd team and Wade/Westbrook on 1st team as well.

I look at All-NBA teams more from a skill level and 'who's better than who this season' standpoint. Games/minutes played factoring in.

C- Marc Gasol

Notes:
-Wanted to be a homer and put Harden in there, but I decided against it
-I actually think Monta deserves at least some consideration
-Bynum has been LA's MVP this season, and I think he's been incredible all season even though I hate him (I'll get some **** for him over Dwight, but whatever)

Because Westbrook has played every game, played more minutes, and has absolutely balled on a level comparable to D. Wade. Big reason why they're the #1 in the West. Each have an argument.

True, Westbrook has had a good season and has played well recently but Id still put Wade and Paul ahead of him. They're having better seasons than Westbrook. But I wouldn't be too surprised if Wade or Paul were not to make the 1st team since they missed many games.

Nash better be one of All NBA Teams.

If Derrick Rose comes back and plays for the rest of the season putting up 20 & 10 every single game, he still shouldn't get voted in simply cause he already missed too much time.

That's like saying Jeremy Lin should get MIP or Mike Woodson should get Coach of the Year.

Best conference record, the legitimate 1B to Durant's 1A, has had huge games while KD had huge games with both scoring over 40 in both contests.

Chris Paul and his Clippers have choked countless times, especially at home, and are fighting for their playoff lives.

Wade is having a good shooting yr, but his 23-5-5 with countless amount of missed games shouldn't warrant over what other guards with bigger roles like Kobe, Russ and TP have been doing with their teams.

Wade's only missed 11 games. Im assuming he plays the rest of the season with no more missed games (maybe 1 or 2 for rest) but he's played enough. And he has picked up his play. He's always been far efficient, 23/5/5 on 50% in only 33 mins is pretty good (he's 2nd in PER), and he has been playing great as of late (better than LeBron). Like saying before, the voters dont always look into advanced stats, which is why I wont be surprised if Wade is left off the 1st Team (he was left off last season when he had a clear better season than Kobe with the Heat also winning more games the LAL). If he makes 2nd team, it will be because the Heat is LeBron's team & other nonsense like that.

(G) Russell Westbrook
(F) Kevin Durant

Love can't go above Durant or Lebron and He's not a Center so he can't take Dwight spots... The list is good but the only problem I have is Carmelo Anthony because he should not be involved unless they went all the way to a 7th team because the losses and his horrible play. I would put Lebron, Durant, Love, Griffin, Gay, Granger, J-Smoove, Pierce, Dirk, Aldridge, Milsap, Iggy all above him EASY... Hell probably even Ilyasova

then you put durant on second team cause he's second best SF

simple as that

No, LeBron and Durant are the leads for MVP at the moment so they both need to be on the 1st team. And Dwight again has been the best Centre in the league (Orlando also is 3rd in the East) so he's automatic on the 1st team.

Kevin Love should make 2nd team regardless at this point- with the way he's been playing of late (even if the Wolves dont make the playoffs)

Love should be 2nd team. Just because you are the best at your position doesn't make it a lock. Fact is, 2 SF's are better than any PF. And the all NBA teams go 2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 center. Love is the 3rd best forward in the NBA. Just misses that 1st team.
