Simple question. I obviously want to see my Knicks and Thunder go at it but that's not likely. The match up I wanted to see for a long time was Lebron vs Kobe so Heat vs Lakers.

I know, it's weird how after 9 yrs, it still hasn't happened. They always seem to dodge the other because one of them has an unexpected early playoff exit. Kobe is almost on his way out, so the chances of seeing that in the near future is very small.

Lakers Knicks Although a Thunder vs Bulls would be a exciting series.

Spurs vs. Heat.

I think Jackson is gonna be a great player with them and if they get Diaw, I could see him being a solid bench player.

Bulls/Heat vs. the Thunder.

That way it's the two best teams, and two of the most exciting.

Although, I'd love to see a Kobe/LeBron (I guess it would probably be more Kobe/Wade) match up in the playoffs before Kobe is carted off to retirement.

I'm not really intrigued by a kobe lebron matchup for some reason. I'd almost rather see KD vs lebron

Not a fan of either team, therefore I have no favoritism towards either team I pick.

Will be the Heat vs Thunder. Yes, I know very original. Two best teams from each conference. Bulls haven't changed one bit, same team +InjuryRiddled Rip Hamilton. Heat will get by them. Thunder have a tougher road but not by much. Mavs are underachieving this year. Spurs are overachieving and will fall out of the playoffs similar to how they got manhandled last year by the Grizzlies. Clippers play no defense and are too young, even with CP3 leading them. Lakers don't have enough to get by the Thunder.

Heat vs Thunder. Big three vs big three. Close series, but the Heat win. Play more defense and have a better big three. Yes, lame analysis but then again, I don't care. My team is tanking right now.

Only thing I see wrong with that statement is they've had a full year to mesh together and have grown in to a much better defensive team than they were a year ago.

That right there is how threads get derailed, and in this case, into one of the most common subjects talked about. The argument is old and there are plenty of threads about it, sure the guy may have been baiting for a subject change but just ignore it, he was off topic anyway.

I thought bulls vs thunder would be better, he thought heat vs thunder. He thought bulls didn't get better and heat would surpass in playoffs, I didn't. Just trying to back up why I thought bulls over heat in finals. I agreed with everything he said but that statement. He's a warriors fan so I didn't think he was trying to hate on the bulls. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. I think your response off topic if than anything.

Threads are subject to change, especially one about what teams will match up better in the finals: it's hypothetical and based off opinions.

Homer pick, but I want to see Bulls vs Thunder to see Rose vs Durant. Two young stars that are solely about winning basketball games and don't give a damn about marketing their brand.

I'd love to see the Grizz make the finals and think they have what it takes to make a run, especially if arenas could turn it up.

I don't think we (Lakers) would make it, but I'd love to see an LA vs. Chicago or New York or Miami series.

Realistically it's going to be Heat/Bulls vs. Thunder/Spurs

Lakers vs Bulls. It'll be nice to see the Bulls win a championship (post Jordan era), against the same team (Lakers) Jordan beat for his first title.

The question isn't who you want to see in the Finals, it's what would be the best matchup. And imo, after the Bulls/Heat in the ECFs (the best matchup throughout the playoffs), the next best thing would be either of those two teams versus Oklahoma City.

So, OKC vs Miami/Chicago. That would definitely be the best series, and best matchup.

OKC/HEAT
HEAT/LAKERS
LAKERS/BULLS
THUNDER/BULLS.

any of those four will kill in the ratings.

Lakers vs Bulls!

I wonder who would win in that series.

PhillyFaninLA
03-23-2012, 07:17 AM
I think the best would be due to match ups (and other factors) not prestige of teams and players:

Sixers verse anyone because I am a Sixers fan, I think if the Sixers are playing like they did in the beginning of the year and Turner like he did a few weeks ago then a Sixers Bulls EFC could be amazing to watch.

Non bias non homer picks:

Bulls Memphis - I think this happens only if Memphis steps up the D and is very hot, this could be a fun defensive series that would feature all players on both teams

Heat OKC - 2 dynamic teams that can play great defensive or great offensive depending on the night and need, this would also take OKC to the next level as a team

Heat Mavs - a rematch is never bad, the Heat would want revenge and if the Mavs made it back they would be dangerous

edit:

Special addition

OKC verse Sixers or Pacers because realistically the only way either of them make is if there young players take that next step and show they have start power, guys like Turner and Holiday on the Sixers and Collison and George and maybe even Hansborough. A matchup like this would feature 2 great young teammates and highlight the next 10 years in the NBA and would require new east coast stars being developed.

Bulls in 5. I don't think the Lakers are that good this year and wouldn't expect a competitive series, regardless of the Kobe factor.

Most likely/best teams?

OKC/Miami. Yah, boring, but I think they're best best teams this season.

Best ratings?

Knicks/Lakers by miles.

Kobe/Lin rd 2?
Judgement this season?
NY vs LA?

The ratings would completely melt down worldwide.

The media would go completely ballistic.

And lord help us all if the Knicks win the Championship. You thought Linsanity was bad before...

How can you say Thunder/Heat would be boring?

Boring as in a boring/obvious selection.

That and I have no interest in OKC or Miami. Ok, maybe just to see Lebron and Co. lose. I lost interest in following Lebron right after Le Derision, er decision.

Even then, just not that interested in seeing that match up. Just a personal taste thing. As in I find the whole concept of the Miami Heat distasteful, but that's just me. :p
