The Magic.

Power forward Boris Diaw and the Charlotte Bobcats have agreed on a buyout of his remaining contract that should be completed in time for Diaw to be eligible for another team’s playoff roster.

Bobcats vice president of basketball operations Rod Higgins confirmed that early Wednesday morning to the Observer. The buyout, which should be completed sometime today, would make Diaw a free agent in time to sign with a contender. Meanwhile the Bobcats open one of 15 roster spots and save some of what’s left of Diaw’s $9 million salary.

It’s not known just how much money Diaw agreed to give up for his freedom.

...

By agreeing to a buyout now, Diaw can be waived in time to potentially sign with a contender and be eligible for a playoff roster. San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, Diaw’s close friend and French national-team teammate, recently said on a French radio program that Diaw would be welcome with the Spurs.

“He’s in shape,’’ Parker reportedly said. “I’m the first to make fun of him when he gains too much weight, but right now it’s not the case. We’re very interested to get him.’’

He'll probably end up in Boston or SA. Likely SA being he's best friends with TP and TP hinted they were after him (although who knows if this guy is in the loop or not)

Didn't he bulk up on purpose because he was gonna play C?

IMO he'd fit in well on the Bulls. Their offense is predicated on constant ball movement and when they are on point with that kind of ball movement they are a nightmare for any team. I think being given the chance to play for a winner and a team that is run as efficiently as the Bulls we may see him straighten his act out if not he'd just get cut. He's a nice big man to add to that system IMO.

Pacers could use him considering we are last in the league in assists per game and Diaw averages more assists than our starting pg.

I remember hearing early in the season he was going to play C to start off.

Would love him here, upgrade over Bonner and Blair. Would fit next to Duncan as a good passer and space the floor. Best friends with TP. I'm usually not optimistic on FA, but I think it's very likely and we have a great shot that he signs here.

I would love to add him, he could help with our spacing with rose iso's.

Curious but why would the Bulls want or need him? Bulls have Boozer/Gibson/Noah/Asik as their bigs..I guess maybe as an emergency 5th big, but the need really isn't there IMO
