I know Maynor's hurt, don't know if he's coming back this season though. It's nice depth, I wonder how much playing time he'll get, if any

Maynor's done for the entire season.

I think Fisher will get 15-20 MPG with the Thunder.

He might get more minutes when they go with a small ball lineup at times with Westbrook at SG. Reggie Jackson, a rookie, has gotten a little over 10 MPG and OKC has given Russell Westbrook a lot of minutes because they dont want to rest him with an unproven backup. Fisher at the very least provides Championship experience and a stable backup PG.

I'm just glad that won't be joining the Heat. I don't think he has to much left to offer. It's just crazy to me that until the trade he was still starting for the Lakers. I kind thought he would choose OKC because he wants a shot at the Lakers in the playoffs. He probably won't play too much though.

WTF?! Mr. Clutch is Jerry West!! Check your members only Lakers jacket at the door and don't let it hit you in the *** on your way out. jk

Fisher is one of the 5 poorest players in the NBA and should retire.
I don't get nostalgic about ex-girlfriends who've I've actually had meaningful relationships with so why would a dude I don't know be any different? Fisher can go punt boulders for all I care.

Even if he plays 0 minutes I still like the signing. OKC 2nd unit plays out of control sometimes, so even a mentor on the bench would be helpful.

LOL I think you and me were the only HEAT fans that said this.

He would be useful in Miami, teaching Cole and for his leadership and experience, BUT he wants to play and we have Juwan, Battier and a pretty mature team for the other things.

Good for him.

Fixed that for ya! lol

But your right on the impending signing, he brings a wealth of championship experience and we'll be better for it. I think he'll play 10 mins a game tops but he'll be huge off the floor.

He's ring chasing.

Sadly the Thunder might also be his best opportunity to get minutes. They are thin at PG without Maynor. Plus there's a possibility if he gets his shot back that he could get end of game reps with Westbrook sliding to SG. It was the best possible decision FOR HIM.

:sigh: :sigh:

I actually think after a very rocky start he's starting to look more like the same Fisher we're used to seeing on the floor.

Fisher in February - 8 games
7.3ppg / 3apg / 2.5 rpg / 1spg / 42% 3pt / 89% ft

I'm sure the Thunder would take that off the bench. And I'll keep saying that I won't be shocked when the playoffs role around and we watch the Thunder running some crunch minutes with a Fisher-Westbrook backcourt.

kozelkid
03-20-2012, 09:31 PM
Called it. I like it for OKC. He'd only have to take shots in that offense and fits well with a playmaker like Harden. Plus he brings great veteran leadership for a very young team.

ThuglifeJ
03-20-2012, 09:32 PM
Fisher could hit that clutch shot. IN LA.

Fisher is goin to blow major in a fast pace non triangle offense. You can bet your money on it.

Burkey3472
03-20-2012, 09:33 PM
It's a meh pickup. If anything, he'll do more in the locker room and off the court then on the court. Even if he produces something offensively he will be horrible defensively, thus he wont be on the court in late game situations. His leadership and championship experience should help a little though.

Fisher is just going to sabotage OKC and their chances to get to the finals. Not like they had a chance anyway but this just guarantees the Lakers a spot in the Finals. You also got Odom doing the exact same thing in Dallas.

Bad choice for the Thunder. Am I the only one who doesnt think they needed anything else? They are playing great ball and seemed to have gotten their personalities straight. Can't see Westbrook wanting a mentor. Of course it's all good if you are sitting up in the west right
now.

Fisher getting court time for another western playoff team is the best thing that could have happened to the Lakers.

Overrated signing, in my opinion. I think he's a has-been and has been finished for a while, holding the Lakers back in the process. Great guy, washed up player.

Westbrook can learn a thing or two from Fisher. I remember D-Rose was playing with Billups on the FIBA World championship and raved how much he learn from Billups. Turn out he became the MVP later in the season

Forget his minutes. The most important thing he brings to them is knowledge. 5 rings and the amount of playoff experiences he has for a team like OKC thats exactly what you need.
