He's slowed up a little bit other than his previous game. But he's still ultra dangerous.

Kyrie Irving has quietly been the best closer in the game this year. He absolutely takes over 4th quarters. Not always enough with that roster though.

Wow. Caron and Blake both miss gimmies.

I wonder if Del Negro is contemplating benching Caron Butler at this point. His play is non existent/detrimental.

ManRam
03-18-2012, 06:04 PM
The lack of mid range scorers/shooters on the Clippers is really hamstringing Chris Paul's ability to create. Even still, with open look after open look seemingly being missed, he still has dished out 14 assists.

SteBO

Chris Paul is a boss......plain and simple

ManRam
03-18-2012, 06:20 PM
He didn't quite get it done in the 4th, but Paul is closing this out perfectly here in OT.

Hard to criticize a guy like him, but I really wish he'd look for his shot more often...not just in the waning moments of games.

So true, but setting guys up is simply part of his DNA. If Im a clipper fan, I'm pleased that he's at least looking for his shot when it matters.... In New orleans that wasn't always the case....

except griffin is a better ball handler, is a better passer, and has better post skills, but yes they should've done Anderson+howard for griffin+Jordan..

On the bright side, Monroe is a beast. 23 points 15 rebounds.

How's that?

1. I hate blake so there's that, haha. 2. He's more fundamentally sound. 3. He doesn't rely on just his athleticism.

He's gonna have a better career when it's all said and done. Right now there pretty even already. I know I said "easily". that's just because i hate blake. With a passion.

KB-Pau-DH2012
03-18-2012, 06:46 PM
The Clippers aren't an elite team or close to it. They come out sizzling in the first qtr in almost every game and then get down late in the 2nd early 3rd, and then the last quarter and a half, they try to come back and make it a game.

That's a very dangerous recipe to have.

Btw, that Caron Butler signing now looks horrible.

I've never been a fan of criticizing people for being good primarily because they're gifted athletes. I don't care how you get it done so long as it gets done. It doesn't matter to me if you're great because you're the most fundamentally sound player ever, or you're great because you're the most athletic player ever...as long as you're great, you're great. Results are all that matters.

I mean, let's say Dwight Howard and Tim Duncan put up identical numbers and play equally as impressively...they're equally good and it doesn't matter that Dwight did it because he's a freak and Duncan did it because he's Mr. Fundamental...all that matters is that it happened.

But I agree, I'm anti-Blake, and I'm proud of it. But my feelings have nothing to do with him only getting by because he's a freak....

Rotoworld
Nene is expected to complete his physical for the Wizards on Saturday, but won't make his debut until Wednesday's game in New Jersey.
The trade isn't expected to be finalized until Sunday or Monday, which rules out all involved players (including JaVale McGee and Nick Young) for Saturday's games. The extra rest should be good for Nene's ailing heel, as well as his psyche -- he had just purchased a big house in Denver following his contract extension.

I really don't think Dwight ever wasn't trying, but on the defensive end mainly, he was not as aggressive and active as he was for most of his career. Maybe in terms of LeBron standards...but he still fills up the stats. In all 3 games he's had 6+ rebounds and 6+ assists. He did have two poor shooting performances, however. And I can't really explain that. I think Quentin annoys him, and with is improved shot selection, and Dwight's ability to control the paint, that causes him problems. He's done such a good job at taking good shots, but Dwight contests a lot of those easy shots that he usually makes.

Hey, if it works, it works. That's definitely a poor assessment of the Magic, but yeah. And I giggle every team Heat fans whine about the refs...though, there have been two blatantly bad calls so far. And don't act like Howard doesn't get fouled so much more than everyone else (again, that blocking foul was wrong).

We do defend very well. We do rebound very well (at times, and especially good on the offensive boards). And we will destroy you in the paint with Dwight.

That was a bad call...but don't extrapolate it to some huge and grand thing. One bad call...cool. That's all it was.

But most feel it's the opposite. Dwight never dives, he never embelishes, and he gets hit harder more frequently than most. He commits a ton of fouls, so it's hard to say he's protected. He's never drawn a flagrant foul in his career...and that's unfathomable considering how often he is intentionally wailed upon.

Are the Heat attacking the rim a lot? Not really, at least not as much as usual. Maybe that's why they have "only" gone to the line 18 times now

There's always an excuse when teams lose, and it's never anything but the refs...

The officiating is piss poor, but Orlando got back in the game because we keep giving up wide open 3s. There's nothing we can do about Dwight. Nothing. We can double all we want, but we've done that he's still had 2 20-20 game vs. us. Spo has tell his guys at halftime to stick with the perimeter. When the magic aren't hitting three's, they're offense is putrid. Plain and simple.

I do think we've been a bit less of "live by the three and die by the three" this season...and we have won a lot of games where we've shot the three bad...but when you are playing so awful and the ball is not moving around, like today, that three point shot does start to matter. It can be a great equalizer...because we played really bad basketball.

The ball isn't moving enough, and when it does, half the passes result in TOs. When we get all 5 guys moving the ball and making the extra and correct passes, we're so good and we don't rely on the three as much. That just hasn't happened so far...so we need them to bail us out.

I am very proud at how long some of those "sentences" I just formed are!

He is the definition of a detriment. This team gets visibly worse offensively when he's in the game.

I'd like to see JJ run the point.

We've shown over the past month that we can hang with any team in the league, home or away. We just lack a go-to scorer who can close games out. We don't have that...and despite what Dwight says, he isn't even close to being even an OK closer.

By the end of the year, I really hope all you Laker fans can start admitting that Kobe is not our best player (assuming Bynum keeps this up w/ no injuries).

Sessions had a really good showing tonight. He should be getting at least 25 minutes every night.

Hah ****in' Crooner.

And yeah whatever, that final shot is what it is. Point is that there's no reason the Lakers should be in that position.

I don't want to hear another word about Kobe for MVP though. His play this year has been as detrimental as it has been impressive. Replace Kobe with James Harden and you've got a better basketball team. Flat out.

Sadly, I must agree with that.

Well.. most Laker fans still believe Kobe is the best player in the league.

Steve Blake started played 24 minutes: 0 points, 2 assists, 2 turnovers

Sessions in 20 minutes: 10 points 6 assists 0 turnovers

We lost because we had 24 turnovers and Kobe played the worst game of his career tonight... absolutely pathetic

Ramon also shot 1-7.

But kobe 3-20, 7 TO?

24 TO in total?

Yikes!

Blake was clueless the whole game. Sessions gave us a lift with the bench and brought us back in the 4th.

did sessions play tonight? how was he?

10 points, 6 assists. Did an excellent job dictating tempo and getting open looks.

Very bad shooting night but great job getting to the line. Hadn't had a PG like that in a while.

I am almost certain he is going to get replaced by Sessions soon.
