If the Nets pulled this off too, it would have capped off the worst trading deadline for one team in history. :laugh2:

Maybe if they were thinking Howard coming via FA... big 3 of Dwill, Monta, and Howard?

Did anyone else see this on that site...

The Pistons were also in on Kaman, offering the Hornets one of their big contracts along with a future first-round pick, says Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News. Ben Gordon is the only Piston whose contract would've worked in a one-for-one deal.
After turning down that offer, the Hornets countered with Carl Landry for Jason Maxiell and an unprotected 2012 first-rounder, says Goodwill. The Pistons rejected that one.

Hahahahaha Nets are a horrible franchise

Feel bad for the fans

everytime i see your posts youre hating on something, just stop man. lopez for ellis isn't a bad deal at all. dwight is a free agent next summer. deron ellis and dwight is a pretty decent big 3. a fan could dream

The only way that trade would of made sense at all is if it was a set up package to get Howard from the Magic.

The Nets have 2 great two guards in Marshon and Morrow. Which leads me to believe this isn't true.

Lets be real atleast a top 10 pick probaly between 4 to 10 dont tell me thats a bad place to draft when you guys got brook lopez at that pick just face it sily king hates your team and screwed you guys over

I would rather have a top 10 pick as an asset than a 30 year old (still producing, but on the decline) player with an expiring contract.

Negative player for negative player? I would have been fine with the deal.

How do you get Dwight when your two main trade chips were Lopez and this years first round pick? Convince Deron to play with Monta and scrubs that are expirings until the summer of 2013 hoping that maybe this time Dwight chooses the Nets?!

Nets aren't aking the playoffs this year, they currently have the 5th worst record in the NBA with two of their best players injured. There is a good chance Wallace can opt out this summer.... This can easily be the 4th or 5th pick for a 20 meaningless game rental for a declining hustle player. This might be the dumbest trade I have EVER heard. Getting Monta for 11 mill a year and chasing a Dwight pipedream for another 16 months might have topped that though.

Dwight wanted brooklyn and hopefully still wants brooklyn next summer when he becomes a free agent, but again hopefully the roster we have and the move to brooklyn convinces deron to stay. you could make their situation sound like a complete mess, but well just wait and see what happens

I don't have to try very hard, that team is a disaster.

I'm assuming you're a Knicks fan. We have no room to talk man lol.

Don't know why the Warriors traded for injury prone Bogut and expensive Jefferson (thru S. Jax) when they could've gotten a healthier Brook Lopez and atleast a first rd pick...

GrkGawdofWalkz

The Nets are obviously desperate to have Williams stay in NJ/Brooklyn. It makes some sense. Brook Lopez has no rebounding prowess at all.

BKLYNpigeon

Warriors are better off with Bogut then Lopez. Bogut is a rugged defender and Way better rebounder.

Ellis to the Nets makes sense. Ellis is an under sized 2 guard and had always had trouble guarding in his position. With Deron, He bigger and can defent SG's. they could switch defensive responsibilities.

Ellis did the same thing when he played with Baron Davis.

cuz bogut when healthy is better and on two things they desperately need(defense and rebounding),lopez is only good at one thing: scoring...but they have always have half a dozen good scorers year in and out

X2.

A combo of Howard, D-Will and Ellis would have been scary.

It just keeps getting worse and worse for the Nets and ChillWill.
