With D12 staying put for at least another year will the magic make moves before tomorrow to either try to add to the roster or try to get expiring contracts and take a chance at landing deron williams? I personally think that if they try to get expirings to try to get Deron that could be a huge risk because of the fact that most people are thinking he is going to his hometown team in Dallas! So what do you think the magic are going to do? Also who are some players they could try to get weather you think its going to be expiring contracts or players to come in and help now

Said one Magic player on Howard meeting: "Next year was not even mentioned in meeting...He told us he was "all-in" for this season."

Three Magic players tell Y! Sports (2 to @SpearsNBAYahoo) and one to me that Dwight Howard did not tell them he was opting in for next year.

Let's not start flooding the forum with threads, especially when we don't know if it's true or not

Not this season, their assets suck, next year they will be more flexible... Oh and @waveycrockett;

Regardless of what Dwight Howard said during meeting with teammates, source close to Howard said he informed Alex Martins that he'll opt-in

No one knows how this is going to end up...

Landry/Jack +8wins and Orton/Davis/Redick/Clark -6wins?

Apparently Alex Martins isn't that great of a source according to the other thread:shrug:

said on the bottom right now that he said he will stay but hasnt signed the papper and that the magic want him to sign it before the deadline or they'll have to trade him so if he said it why wouldnt he just go sign the papper unless he's really that indecisive and changes his mind again before tomorrow

That has been refuted and now recently someone tweeted that he will indeed opt-in. Who knows if any of this is true we'll have to see.

Who are their expirings and do you know how much money they'll have freed up or will they only have the MLE? if they do keep dwight who do you think they'll target?

i think that would be a very good trade for Orlando does the money match up? Only thing is didnt dwight want big baby? so i think unless he's changed his mind they'd be reluctant to pull the trigger on that deal although i think landry and big baby are very close talent wise and jack would give them an huge upgrade over chris duhon also not sure if they'd be willing to give up redick but its possible!

Only Baby ($6.4M), JRich ($6.2M) and Duhon ($4M) are on contract for the 2013 season; Anderson is a RFA this summer, Nelson is expiring, Redick is expiring and Hedo has a non-guaranteed contract.

With a lot of big names in 2013 FA, a lot of teams will want to clear cap, so the Magic would be smart to make some moves next year.

They are going to have to lock up Ryan Anderson to a big deal after this year or risk being garbage next year. He is there only trade asset.

Nelson's $9M expiring, Redick's $6M expiring and Hedo's $11M expiring aren't good trade assets the year before one of the biggest FA classes in history (with the exception of 2010)?... They can get value for any of those contracts or they can choose to let them expire and tell Dwight to recruit his friends CP3, Monta and JSmoove.

Huh? When your TRADING an expiring your bringing back added salary. Your not moving an expiring for an expring so that doesn't help ORL play in FA of 2013 and no GOOD free agent spots have bloated deals on their roster to give anything major.
