The San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves are discussing a three-team deal, according to sources close to the situation. Nothing is imminent, but the teams will continue to talk over the next two days.

In the rumored deal, the Spurs would acquire Josh Howard, the Timberwolves would acquire C.J. Miles and Jamaal Tinsley and the Jazz would acquire Danny Green and Wayne Ellington. Other players and draft picks will likely be included in the finalized trade.

Utah holds a $10.9 traded-player exception and San Antonio holds a $854,400 traded-player exception as well.

Sources described the talks as ongoing, but stressed that no deal is imminent.

NO.....DEAL......IMMINENT (aka, all of Alex 'the troll' Kennedy's rumors) :D

They should trade Splitter and Blair for Jefferson.

Utah gets more young talent and free cap space.

Spurs get a good center.

CJ Miles would be a nice pick up for Minny

Splitter is already a good center.

I love Al Jeff, but it wouldn't be worth it IMO. Plus it would leave us with 2 bigs seeing as Bonner doesn't play big at all.

We were going after him hard in the offseason, but I don't know why we would do it. We already have Anderson as a backup, and even Neal. Also have RJ and Leonard at the SF, and we need Leonard to play.

Only reason I can think of why Spurs do it is if we have a deal in place for RJ. Would rather have Miles though of the two.

I like Splitter but Jefferson and Duncan would be a good low presence duo.

It would, assuming Pop would play them. Pop won't even play Splitter and Duncan together who is a better defensive combo then Jeff and Duncan would be. Plus like I said we would only have 2 and a half bigs.

Would rather have one of their other bigs if it cost less and wouldn't have to trade two bigs for him.

nice deal for minny... but why does spurs want josh howard? isnt he injury prone?

Pass on Josh Howard...we were looking at him this offseason but would be a pointless addition. RJ is playing well and adding J howard would just cause chemistry problems. Dont see this happening, and knowing pop, he wouldnt want to make some changes through mid season. Cj miles would be nice though.

Why would Utah do this trade??? No way this happens

This tells me for the Spurs 1 of 2 things:

1. Someone is actually crazy enough to take RJ in another trade (which is why they're going after Howard)
2. Strictly a financial move. if they include someone else like Anderson they save some money.

If you were a fan of either of these teams you might disagree with that. Not everyone is a fan of super teams ;)

he's far too inconsistant to be underated, and his basketball IQ is by far the lowest on our team. We've wanted him out for 2 or 3 years now. Shame we don't ditch Bell as well in this deal.

he's right though, its a nothing trade. Nobody gets an impact player. I just hope we can somehow squeeze a pick out of it somewhere, not that bothered about any of the players mentioned.

I kinda like it from a Jazz point of view actually. We save a bunch of money, dump CJ (FINALLY), get 2 guys with a nice outside shot, and would probably get a pick or something as well. I'd hate to lose Howard, but if Green's got potential (I think he does), it'd be worth it.

No he isn't. He's probably an 8th guy in a rotation tbh. Average, nothing special.

Didn't even know Tinsley was still in the league.

Saw that he dished 10 assists the other night. Good for him to get back in the league.

About the deal, there's def more to it than just these players. Jazz would have to have picks coming back, they lose too much.

"Meh" is probably the only way to describe this type of deal. Any other description just tells me you have too much time on your hands. lol

Just because they aren't big names being potentially shopped doesn't mean it's a "nothing trade", sometimes a minor move can really help a team out.

Danny Green is younger and playing better than Howard. makes no sense.
