View Full Version : I'm done with Haslem

Ive been as patient as I can be. He is physically hurting the team while on the court. His on ball defense has been atrocious, he can't make open 10 footers, and he can't even finish around the rim any more. Tonight the heat almost lost another game thanks to his ineptitude.

Well I'm done. I don't care how long he has been on the heat. I don't care that he gave us a discount on him. Right now he is TRASH. It's not eve a discount anymore.

We simply cannot afford to continue to play haslem in meaningful minutes right now. He has done just about everything wrong.

Let's look at crunch time tonight: he fouled west 3 times, whiffed on an alley pop, air balled a 12 footer, let west score 8ish points. He contributed in only ONE positive way... Getting an offensive rebound.

Well I am not ready to give up just yet, I am starting more and more to agree with you. He has been downright awful this year to say the least, however, he will be in there at end of games unless we decide to play small ball with Battier in and LBJ at the 4. I would still rather have him out there over Joel

Joel has actually finished around the rim...

And to think.. Seem of you said you wouldn't trade haslem for nene this past summer. SMH

Pretty much this. I am definitely losing patience with him tho.

It has been frustrating watching Haslem at times this year, but I think he's still our 2nd best front court player (I don't consider SF front court), and extremely valuable to the team.

The normal Haslem + a healthy Miller is better than Nene. You trash a $3M UD and throw him under the bus, but Nene absolutely stinks for a guy making $13M and might be in the top 5 worst contracts in the league. Truth.

I am not done. I am not gonna give up on him so early specially on a lockout affected compacted season where he was out for a year and couldn't even attend the preseason camp. I know what he's capable of and what he's done. May be loyalty is a big part of my character. I think Riley will never trade him unless it's a ridiculously lopsided offer.

Never was a huge fan of UD's as a player (love him as a person though) and I've been saying this for a while, maybe not here (I don't remember) but I always wanted to trade him. He's a little below mediocre in my book but he does hustle I give him that. I'm fine with him for now but I'd definitely consider trading him if we we're to get a good big back.

Not gonna happen but I'd call the T-Wolves up on that IOU (I Owe U) deal for Beasley and tell them to return the favor and send us Pekovic (which I highly doubt they trade) and Beasley for Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem...I'd probably even consider Darko. Nontheless We need some more then viable and reliable bigs outside of Bosh.

Haslem is my second favorite NBA player but damn has his shot been off this season. I'd never give up on him though. Every player has some rough stretches in their careers. Just look at Marcus Camby's FG% the past 2 years. Also, what about Melo?

why are u mad at haslem.he's 1 of our top rebounders.his stats off the bench is better than joel.he's a great off the bench player.our center spot is the issue.

just don't play him at crunch time,
put in battier then LBJ will play the 4,

He's been very frustrating to watch this season, but I wouldn't give up on him too soon ..

He's still the best reserve rebounding big in the league and has one of the friendliest contracts, that isn't on a rookie deal or expiring. Haslem has been so consistent throughout his first 9 years in the league that I can't see why we would quit on him now.

naps
03-11-2012, 02:14 PM
Not to mention all our loses were due to awful rebounding. We will lose most of our matches without Haslem's rebounding. He's the best rebounding big in the league off the bench.

justinnum1
03-11-2012, 02:25 PM
And he's 10th overall in rebounding rate, but he cant be air balling 15footers, he just cant

you also seem to forget UD is one of the best in the league at drawing charges...his defense and all the little things you dont see is what makes him valuable.

He does need to start making those shots, or teams will start helping off him a lot more.

He should call david thrope and spend time with him.

TRADE BAIT , i bet we could get a Kaman or Bogut or somone like that n we'd get to keep miller

Then move joel to the 4 back up n keep havin pittman be back up center sonce he's been impressive latley with minutes.

Just curious, why would you keep miller? He is injury prone, his minutes are shrinking, and spo prefers battier over miller due to defense.

We needs UD's rebounding and toughness. I cant see riley dealing him unless it got us someone pretty good, and a def clear upgrade.

Bogut is not happening, and kaman is 14 mil and would kill our depth if we traded for him.

03-12-2012, 03:21 AM
no, not give up on haslem. what is the reason for your ire towards him?

the heat value character, loyalty, dedication and effort. haslem has all those things so i am not going to throw him under the bus because his jumper is off. id rather lose with a man of high character than win with a total jerk who cares only about money.

sides, its lebron that will determine if we win a ship or 4 over the years anyway, so i don't see y this guy is the one y'all are coming down on.

i just yell at pittman when ever i get mad at the heat. he could be on the bench and i still yell at him. makes me feel better lmao

How I know that UD will be alright? The answer is simple.. He's a proven champion.

UD isn't a player trying to make a name for himself. We all know hes a pro. He's rusty now though after that season ending injury he had. Yea it's been half the season and it's takin him a little more than we all expected. But trust me he will be their when we need him. He's the type of guy that doesn't like to let his team down. And wade will prob be the main reason why he makes sure that hes ready.

Also this slump is due to him not being in rhythm in the game offensively. Right now he's just being used like Joel (Deffense).. They need to insert plays for him and find him more. Also keep in mind how bad battier was doing not to long ago and it's not until now that he's catching rhythm

You can't get equal value in return for Haslems' contract. He means just as much off the court to this team as he does on it.

I love UD but dude...He cant hold on to a ball in the paint to save his life this season. I have no idea what his deal is, but you can't get in rhythm that way.

Also this slump is due to him not being in rhythm in the game offensively.

This very day last season, he couldn't even play with the team. Now he is healthy, although not at his best he can improve. As I said last season without having played a lot, he plays in the playoffs vs the Bulls, being at 70% and he drives us to beat Chicago. This year he's having a bad streak, but I trust him as last season I trust him to return and do a better impact than he's already doing.

In Haslem I trust.
