View Full Version : Report: Wizards willing to trade Javale McGee

Fresno

The Wizards have resisted inquires about JaVale McGee for several years, but it now appears that the supremely athletic 7-foot-1 big man could be had in the right deal. According to multiple NBA front office executives, the Wizards are open to moving McGee, who will be a restricted free agent this summer.

McGee is one of just five players averaging at least 11.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and two blocked shots Josh Smith and all-stars Dwight Howard, Marc Gasol, Andrew Bynum are the others but he has also mixed the spectacular with the perplexing.

The Wizards were unable to reach a contract extension with McGee by the Jan. 31 deadline and McGee will likely yield a large offer sheet this summer. Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan probably set the market when he signed a four-year, $43-million contract last summer.

I'd like him on the Kings if he would raise his b-ball IQ.

They bombed on taking Jan Vesely at #6.

Definetly not anything more than a 10th-12th man on a team.

Wizards need to fire Ernie Grunfeld. Until then, they're screwed.

Start with IQ and then work from there. Asking for any IQ would be asking for too much from Mcgee.

Agreed. I cant have a guy running back on D when we are on offense, blatantly goaltending shots, and swatting the shots out of bounds on purpose. Sure it sends a message but possession isnt controlled. Praying the Kings get lucky in the Lotto and get Davis

Big Cuz/Davis =

doesnt suprise me to much...the wizards seem like they really dont want him there anymore. Warriors does sound like an excellent destination for him though

Wizards already mentioned they offer a package of McGee and fillers for Bogut. Bucks want to package Jackson in most trades though.

To the Sixers for Spencer Hawes and a 1st round pick please.

McGee has the potential to be an absolute beast defensively, and is one of the most physically and athletically gifted big men I've ever seen. I think the fact that he's on a team that lacks leadership and accountability is really hurting him, and if he played for a coach like Doug Collins and with a group of guys like the Sixers, he could flourish and be in the conversation for DPOY for many years.

Right now he thinks he's better than he is, and there's nobody in DC to keep him in check.

I would have a blast seeing him in a Lakers uniform. Seeing that killer Kobe scowl each time McGee commits a goaltending violation.

I would watch each Laker game.

There's plenty of teams that would like to have him I'm sure. New Orleans could be a nice home. Depends on what they send back of course.

Ellis for McGee? :laugh2:

i kno they like McGee but there is no way they offer their best player for that dumby in D.C

Warriors arent looking to give Monta away for low level talent with potential, they only will move him if they get a big piece in return

He has so much potential. I have never seen a player that can Dunk and block shots very good but have poor post moves and defense and is a bafoon.
