The Knicks send Carmelo Anthony and Landry Fields to the Blazers for Gerald Wallace, Wes Matthews and Nicolas Batum.

Something is going on in NY and this is the time to start addressing it. The Knicks went 8-1 without Carmelo Anthony. Since he has returned, they're 2-5. The offensive flow stops when Anthony is on the court. In those two wins with Anthony, Lin averaged 18 points and 11 assists. I still think this is Amare's team and Lin works well with him as well as Tyson Chandler. Gerald Wallace gives D'Antoni a guy that can play defense and run the court. He's also a guy that doesn't need the ball in his hands. He can play off Lin and Stoudemire or he can run the break when he gets a rebound. He's an unselfish player that would work well with this team. A guy like Batum would give them depth off the bench and Matthews is a more consistent player than Shumpert or Fields at the SG position. Fields is also a free agent this Summer.

Knicks Line up:

PG Jeremy Lin - Baron Davis
SG Wes Matthews - Iman Shumpert - JR Smith
SF Gerald Wallace - Nicolas Batum
PF Amare Stoudemire - Jared Jefferies
C Tyson Chandler - Steve Novak

For the Blazers, they're currently under .500 and out of the playoff race, but this trade could get them back into the hunt.

Blazers Line up:

PG Raymond Felton - Nolan Smith
SG Jamal Crawford - Landry Fields - Elliot Williams
SF Carmelo Anthony - Luke Babbitt
PF Lamarcus Aldridge - Kurt Thomas
C Marcus Camby - Joel Pryzbilla

I just can't see the Knicks giving up 'Melo for that deal, it's not enough. That being said, the Blazers would have 2 players (Crawford & Melo) who are essentially "chuckers", not sure that would work.
