As per Gregor Chisholm.

He is a big kid for being 17.

Here is some video of DeAza as well.

Looks like a really balanced, strong swing with loft. They say he already has plenty of raw power.

It's a different story to see him in the box facing real pitching, but that looks like a pretty smooth and developed stroke for a 17-year-old. I'd like to see how he looks actually running down balls in the OF and on the basepaths- looks like he might have the body type to be a Rios-type CF/RF.

His swing looks a little long to me from the footage I've seen...but he's only 17...plenty of time to work on mechanics.

This guy is big for 17. I hope this doesn't mean we are off Soler. But we just keep adding depth for the future. Always a good thing, just hope this isn't another Hech deal. This kid looks like a OF'er or 1st base. Too big for anywhere on the infield by the time he stops growing and filling out!

One good thing is that although the swing may be a little long he takes a very direct path to the ball and gets his hands through the ball very well...however if you look at the side angle shot it looks like he has a little bit of a problem with balls in on his hands, he seems to get really stuck.

Also hope this doesnt take us out of the Soler sweepstakes.

DeAza is not one of the elite International guys from what I can tell so there's no reason he would be a replacement or signing in lieu of Soler. If the Jays liked what they saw I have no doubt they'll be very interested in making a play for Soler.

Wonder if he is related to Alejandro from the W Sox?

Can any of you savvy kids look into this?

Jays paid $150K to lock him up.

As for being related to Alejandro, I don't think he is...Andres is from St. Luis and Alejandaro is from Guaymate.
