What do you guy's think about him? He's still pretty young and looks like he may be a really good SG -

Gerald Green returned to Boston on Friday during the middle of a 10-day contract with the Nets. Green was a first round pick by the Celtics in 2005 coming straight from high school.

“You always say you wish you could turn back the hands of time,” said Green. “I definitely do wish I could, but the one thing about mistakes, if you know you’ve made [one], you can continue to correct it. That’s when you know you’ve improved and have grown up,”

“That’s what I’m trying to do,” added Green, who scored 11 points. “I know I’ve made a mistake and I realize that, instead of me trying to say I was doing things the right way and blame everybody else. I’m just so happy I found out early in my career I could still change things around,”

“I think there still is a very good chance for Gerald Green. He was just so young when he was here,” Doc Rivers said. “He’s skilled. People look at Gerald and they just saw this freak athlete that won the dunk contest. Gerald can make shots. He can really shoot the basketball. He just hadn’t been taught how to play basketball.

“I hope it works out for him,” he added. “It would be a terrific story. I would probably be one of the happier guys. He’s not a bad kid. He’s never been a bad kid. He just needed some direction.

“He’s just more mature, you can see it in his play. Avery was telling me how much he watches film now. He’s studying the game. Sometimes when you’re young you don’t think, ‘What the hell do I need to study Kobe Bryant for? I’m better than him.’ He never said that, but I’m just saying that’s how they think and Kobe is sitting there watching him on film and that’s the difference.”

I like this kid and think he's going to surprise some people the rest of the season. The Nets need help, so he'll probably log major minutes also. What do you think?

Always knew he'd make it back in the NBA.

Like Doc Rivers said:

"He’s skilled. People look at Gerald and they just saw this freak athlete that won the dunk contest. Gerald can make shots. He can really shoot the basketball. He just hadn’t been taught how to play basketball."

The KG trade worked out bad for him because he ended up on teams that had 0 interest in developing him. Doc Rivers got the best season out of him in 2007 when he was only 21 and if he had stayed in Boston they would've developed him into a better all around player. You can see the work Doc did with Rondo, Tony Allen, Big Baby, & Leon Powe during that Championship season.

I've always liked him. If he remains on the Nets I could see him growing into an impressive player.

Next game is against the Bobcats too (tomorrow), so I could see him having a big game and building some confidence. I honestly think this could be another great story this year. This kid can play.

Im a nets fan..... :(... He has really impressed me with energy and flight... Nets have lacked energy all season I really like the way he has played.... I would not mind at all turning that 10 day into the rest of the season

What was his defense like? That was his biggest issue with Minnesota - he looked completely lost on defense.

u know, i always thought he would be a star in the league, but it never panned out, same thing with terrence williams, they both still got time tho, but only time will tell.

Another Nets fan here and he is playing with tons of energy and his defense is pretty good so far.

Always liked G Green. Hope he can make a career this time around and stick with a team. I wish the same for T. Williams. They both have huge untapped potential.

Happy for GG, guy is crazy athletic and very talented, but originally just came into the league way too early and wasn't mentally prepared and should have gone to college for a year or two at least to learn the game.

He's matured a lot it seems and putting it together finally to realize he can be much better than only highlight reel dunks.

He has been playing as hard as I've ever seen him play. You can tell he doesn't want to go back to the D-League.

the dude could always score/dunk. he just cant do anything else. he's got a low bb iq and honestly cant figure out how to play defense/rotations/etc. he definitely would have benefited from going to college and developing a few years instead of jumping straight to the nba.

i hope the guy the best but whenever they have to teach you the basics of how to play basketball in your mid 20's, it's probably not a good thing.

Right system/coach, he can flourish. Man I always wanted him in Miami, a line up with Wade, Green, James on the floor would be unfair on the fast break.

His problem was always consistent effort, defense, and his brain. I like the kid, it would be cool if he figured it out, but don't expect much. He just doesn't understand the game of basketball.

i really didn't know what "basketball IQ" was, REALLY, until i watched gerald green play in the nba. then, instantly, what he lacked opened my eyes to some basic levels of intelligence and decision making that i had come to take for granted from the human race.

that said, most people can start using their brain whenever they decide they want to. i myself could play 20 mins/night in the nba if i were built like gerald green, and i ****ing suck at basketball. i hope he sticks.

Continues to remain on fire. Could end up being a steal for the Nets.

Tonight 26 points (9-13) 2 rbs, 2 asts, and 3 steals, +17 in 25 minutes and led the team in scoring in a win.

They need to start him. I bet he could really be special if he was starting right now. Start him at the 3 and keep Brooks at the 2. Those two would be fun to watch every game in the starting lineup.

He has good form on his jumper, and amazing body control in the air.

If he can stay away from stupid plays, he can be a very good player.

just another high schooler who was money hungry. If he did stay in college, I think he would have been really good, like some have said he may still have a chance but still. Same with other high schoolers like telfair and whoever else. Stupid decisions from people around them to.

Telfair was massively overrated. He didnt have 1/10th talent that Green had.

We have Luke Walton instead of Gerald Green

I wish Green the best. That allyoop windmill dunk was so sick. His chin was up above the rim. Dope.
