View Full Version : Kings could move Tyreke

PleaseBeNice
03-02-2012, 03:43 PM
The player the Kings could move if it lands a vet leader type is Tyreke. Thatís what I keep hearing

http://aroyalpain.com/2012/03/02/have-the-sacramento-kings-put-tyreke-evans-on-the-trading-block/

I REALLY dont like this, if it holds any truth. Tyreke is only 22, and has all the tools to be a great, great player. Just needs to fix his shooting, something that can be improved. And for a "vet leader type"?? Idk about this... Please dont **** it up Geoff Petrie

Reke is the point forward at this point. Isaiah and Jimmer play point, with Jimmer playing the 2 as well.

It's more that you are over-rating him. I've seen King fans on this thread laugh at getting Rajon Rondo... RONDO??? Who is a young, top 10 PG, who has won a championship. What a joke. Having Allen, KG, and Pierce doesn't hurt you one bit if your Rondo, hell I'm pretty sure Chris Duhon couldve looked that good too. Rondo is a great player but a head case and Evans has more upside he can play the 1-3 and power his way to the lane.

More upside how??? You'd think a franchise that has never won a championship would want someone who knows how to do it. Rondo is a "headcase" because he's in the unusual spot of being a young player (and the best player) on a team loaded with hall of fame big personalities (KG). On a young team like the Kings, getting leadership like that can't be understated. What's more is this is a YOUNG dude that can grow with the team, AND he's a TOP 10 PG in the NBA. WOW.

TO be clear, I'm not a fan of either team, but this is flat out dumb. May be 10 years from now, when the Kings still have no rings... and Kings fans figure out Evans can't play any of the 3 positions on a top 10 level (much less... one of the most important in PG).... you'll understand. I wouldn't count on it though.

Scorers are a dime a dozen in the NBA, floor leaders are harder to come by.

Speaking of homersism... Name 10 sg's better than Tyreke? Rondo's jumper is worse than Evans hundredfold, playing with 3 future hall of famers practically gives him 10+ assists a game. All Rondo can do is argue with one of the best coaches of this generations and shine in the big three's light

Celtics with Rondo-Big Three = Worse than the bobcats

Agree. His shooting may not be all that but with him being very young (22?) he has a lot of time to work to get way better then he is. I would give him this offseason to work with his shot with rose and they be the best back court in the game.

Rondo is their floor general, and the consensus best player on their team. So yes, the truth is that he should be leading them at this stage of their careers. Anybody who has spent time watching the Celtics knows Doc Rivers has said on many occasions that Rondo is the one with the keys. He's also said it's been difficult for players with the resumes of KG, Pierce, and Ray to accept this (which of course is understandable).

May be I'm a traditionalist, but I want my PG to be able to defend and pass well. I'd like for the perimeter shooters like Ray Allen/Steve Novak/Kyle Korver guys to get the ball when their wide open behind the 3pt line. I want my PG to be able pass the ball to the big man in the paint like KG, DMC, Dwight. Rondo has shown he can do ALL OF THAT and at a top 10 level.

Do people really want a scoring PG? I know I'd take Jason Kidd over Steve Francis any day of the week. PG & C are generally regarded as the 2 most important positions on a basketball team.... if you get your 2 best players in those positions it's pretty hard to go wrong. DMC already has the potential to be one of the top Cs in the league, having a top 10 PG to go along with it would be real nice.... and getting one that has a ring is even nicer.

That was not directed at you, I was just throwing that out there. We would have been better off targeting a 3 in free agency or the draft instead of Jimmer with the number one pick.

Then they go and sign Thornton to play the same position Reke should be playing. Not really sure why the Kings thought Reke and Martin couldn't coexist but that Reke and Thornton can??

IMO no real reason to have Rondo in Sac at all. We are not a decent PG away from making the playoffs or anything like that. I wouldn't trade Reke for Rondo in a million years.

We wouldn't even trade Cousins for Bynum at this point...Cousins eats Bynum for lunch.

Tonight: Cousins 5-16 fgs, 10 pts.
Season: 16.8 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 1.3 bpg, 43.6% fgs He's also averaging 4.1 fouls per game this year and last. No surprise on his fgs, he only averaged 43% fgs last year lol.

Tonight: Bynum 8-13 fgs, 19 pts.
Season: 16.2 ppg, 12.8 rpg, 2.1 bpg, 54.7% fgs. Only 2.0 fouls a game.

He can eat whatever he wants for lunch, but no team will ever win with that guy.

Kings need to trade that whole damn roster while there might be some value left, none of them work well together and they all are overrated.

Still can't believe they wasted a pick on jimmer.

Kings Trade Cousins and Tyreke to the Nets
Nets sent Deron, Morrow to the Lakers, Humphries to the Kings
Lakers send Gasol and FIsher to the Kings

Everyone is Happy

(Nets than trade Brook and Marshon to Celts for Rondo, Allowing them to Sign Dwight and Draft MKG)
You're out of your mind if you think SAC would trade both of their star upstarts for an old, overpaid Gasol and Fisher. FISHER?! Are you nuts?!

Cousins per right now is 21.4 (2nd season in NBA) compared to Bynums per of 21.9 (seventh season in NBA). Factor in age and durability, there's no way the Kings FO trades Cousins for Bynum straight up, yet alone add Tyreke.

Most sensible thing I've read in this thread, Celts really bite the bullet with Salmons contract, but could be worth getting a higher pick in this years draft.

Salmons sucks, but looking into it his contract isn't that bad. it's frontloaded so you're saving about a 1 mil each year, and the 4th year is only guaranteed for 1M if he's waived.

This puts Boston in position with the 5-7 pick to pair Tyreke up with a player who could complement his skills like MKG or Tom Robinson. I like that a lot more than Rondo+some middle round guy like Ross/Leonard.

Sacramento can utilize their scoring options more too

SAC get: Harris/Milsap
Harris/Thomas
Thornton/Garcia
Salmons/Outlaw/Honeycutt

Or maybe 1 or 2 years from now, Rajon Rondo proves that a lot of his weaknesses were masked by having 3 hall of famers playing alongside him?

Suns get: Hickson, Evans, Q-Rich, Nelson
Suns trade: Nash, Frye

Orlando gets: Nash, Frye, Salmons
Orlando trades: Q-Rich, Reddick, Anderson, Nelson, Duhon

Kings get: Reddick, Duhon, Anderson
Kings trade: Evans, Hickson

Magic want to get Nash so badly to please Howard so they do this trade. Plus they get a Ryan Anderson clone in Frye but Frye is actually locked in longterm unlike Ryno who might bolt during free agency.

Kings are a horrible 3pt shooting team and this trade just fixes that completely with them getting two premiere 3pt shooters in Anderson and Reddick. Anderson will give Cousins room to in the paint just like he did for Howard. They also get rid of Hickson who they have been trying to so hard to trade. Plus they get out of Salmons AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL contract. Also an Orlando 1st in a relatively deep draft '12 draft.

It's actually not a bad trade, but the problem is, the Kings aren't going to get rid of Tyreke for role players, when they really need franchise cornerstones and with his upside I doubt we trade him this early.

How long are they going to hold on to his upside though? OJ Mayo has a lot of upside yet Memphis would trade him in a heartbeat if someone even offered a late '12 first rd pick for him cause that potential hasn't turned into performance yet.

Other than that fluke rookie season, Evans has been going downhill and I just think he needs a change in atmosphere especially with all the guards SAC already has.

Yes, but his 2nd year he suffered a major injury and his jump shot needs work and that's what's holding him back and he suffered from the lockout as he was trying to train himself.. I'd wait another year at least maybe 2
