Just putting it out there. A lot of you guys have probably heard of him, probably not. He was drafted out of college by the denver nuggets 22nd pick being the best rebounder (statistically) ever to play in college. So far he hasn't really seen much spot light, (other than a few highlight plays) because

1. He plays for denver (small market)
2. George Karl was barely letting him off the bench for most of the season until denver recent injury explosion.
3. He plays for denver

Because of the injuries to starting bigmen Mosgov and Nene, karl has started playing him, and if you have seen him play, it's pretty ridiculous. :speechless:

His rebounding ability and strength for his height are just beyond anything i have really seen before. seriously you have to watch this guy play.

In his first season so far, kenneth faried has averaged 6.1 rebounds (2.3 offensive) in just 16.9 minutes per game.

Per 36 Min per game thats 12 rebounds (4.9 offensive), and this is his rookie season........

These stats don't even include kenneth faried's game today against portland

Pts: 13 (6/6) Rebounds: 10 (7 offensive) in just 17 minutes

Watching this guys style of play and ridiculous hustle for rebounding, i think this guy has the ceiling of a dennis rodman, maybe even better.

What do you guys think?

He was the only one that stuck out in the combine for me. Was shocked he was picked so late

Sounds like he has more offensive potential than Rodman, but in no way will be come close defensively or rebounding as Rodman was. Rodman was unbelievable, 7 straight years of 14.9+ RPG. 10 years straight of 11.2+ RPG.

All I will say is be cautious of assuming any kind of equal rate with guys who play small minutes. Taj Gibson is a similar case of a guy posting good numbers in small time samples, but is in a backup role for a good reason.

Way to early to be compared to Rodman but is certainly a top rebounder even as a rookie.

Sounds good. Let him play more games to come to any conclusions.

Oh and just for the record:

Dennis Rodman = Greatest rebounder in the history of basketball. And one of the greatest defenders ever.

So I think it's too early but I am all for optimism. I like seeing young guys shine.

Haven't watched him play. But I hate this guy on 2k12.. He gets a ton of put backs. It's like all the missed shot bounces his way..

Everyone knew this kid had freakish rebounding ability before the draft.

Glad George Karl is finally giving him minutes.

Rebounding translates well from college to the pros. Stands to reason that the best college rebounder ever is going to do well in the NBA regatdless of minutes.

In fairness, rodman didnt start rebounding 10+ till his 5th year.

he is top 5 in the rebounding rate for offensive and defensive, his motor is incredible and he jumps ridiculously high, he just has the good instincts that bigger players who suck at rebounding don't have.

He's also a great defensive player and shot blocker. He makes up for being undersized with great bounce.

This guy is a special player. I saw him play numerous times over his college career at morehead state. If you havent seen him in person, you might not understand how great of an athlete he is. I saw him live at least 5 times when he came to play against my college APSU

I dont think the 2011 draft will end up as weak as most people thought. And i cant believe how many teams passed up on Faried.
