Wayman Tisdale is a great musician. Not current, but yeah.

Chris Webber produced a Nas track on one of his albums, and it was really solid. He's done some other stuff too. I think he released an album of his own...never heard it.

I know nothing about the current players.

Wayman Tisdle (r.i.p) earned a very good reputation as a Bass Player after his career ended, recorded several records and played as sesion musician for other artists jazz records.

Playing an instrument good > singing or rapping in terms of being a good musician.

Im rolling with him.

I wonder if Kevin Love has some abilitys tough, he is related to the Beach Boys.

well in todays mainstream standards for being a "musician" arent very high, considering all these rap/dj pricks consider themselfs "musicians" (your not musicians by the way your a thief of music) a musician plays an instrument(example guitar bass drums etc) they dont push play on there laptop take a E-tarded drug and say its genius......but in todays standards Im sure the "musicians" in the NBA doesnt differ much from anything else in the mainstream of "todays musicians" so i guess this singer basketball player dude is just as talented as any prick out in the mainstream today if he had some kinda soul-less beat music playing and a girl doing a vagina dance behind him it would be a huge SUCCESS in todays "music"

Damn dude. "rap/dj pricks"? LOL
Sounds like someone got their girl "groupied out" by a rapper that shall remain nameless... or did someone just piss in your cheerios this morning?

Grant Hill (by the way) is a very talented piano player.

I don't wanna get into a huge argument but producers get permission from whoever they sample (they pay for it), look up the producer Seven, like the song Pictures on my Wall or Textbook Stuff for rapper XV (Check the songs out), and you will hear great instrumentals and mixtures of samples that most people wouldn't think would go together well. Many legendary producers like Dj Premier, 9th Wonder, Dr. Dre, etc. make up their own instrumentals without sampling too. However, it is a problem when they do not get permission from the source of the sample and that's not cool. I consider them "producers" not necessarily "musicians," imo they are more comparable to "composers" but that is another argument. I think the mainstream rappers (like Drake, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, etc) and producers that are considered "hot right now" (like Lex Luger) lead to these stereotypes that isn't true to real hip-hop artists and producers that most most people haven't heard about yet. Also, most rappers do not focus on producing heir own beats, they focus on the lyrics and flow of the song. Listen to XV, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Los, etc. and these guys are some of the truly talented rappers. Nowadays its about popularity as to who gets on the radio, not talent.
