View Full Version : Quadruple Double

We haven't seen a quadruple double in the NBA in almost 20 years. Do you think it's likely we'll see one anytime soon? Which players would be most likely to put up a quadruple double?

My list:
Lebron James
Dwight Howard
Christ Paul (steals instead of blocks)
Serge Ibaka
Kyrie Irving (in a few years)

Who else could do it?

Turnovers don't count... LOL

I wanted to throw that out there before someone else did.

On to more serious discussion. He has the athleticism to do it. What is his career high in steals?

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook, right, finished Saturday's win over Golden State with 21 points, 10 assists, eight steals and seven rebounds.

rA quadruple double is just something so hard to accomplish. Getting the blocks or the steals are INCREDIBLY hard to do.

Of course you put up Lebron & CP3 but Lebron usually doesnt get high numbers in steals or blocks. Westbrook might be able to do it, but still doubt it.

But imma go with:
Josh Smith (he recently had a 5 x 5 game)
Serge Ibaka (multiple games this season where he blocked 10 shots)
John Wall (quite a few games last year where he had 8 or 9 steals)

god i dont wanna say this, and he's by far not the favorite but...you know who is a solid rebounder, maybe hard to get 10 but he is more then capable getting points and assists every night, one lucky night he gets a few extra rebounds and he's had a lot of steals so just maybe...

I'd go with Rondo because he's always around the ball defensively, grabbing rebounds and gets lots of steals; and we know that he can score and facilitate.

Ibaka has made 16 assists in 34 games, this year. And never more than 2 assists in a game, there is no way, he can put up a quadruple-double.

its very difficult.

Probably lebron , rondo, rubio would have the best chance with points, assists, rebounds adn steals.

Ibaka can rebound score and block but wotn get 10 assists.

gasol/dirk/love would score rebound and assist but they wont ever get 10 blocks

Corey
02-28-2012, 02:42 AM
I wouldn't be surprised to see Rondo get lucky with steals and have pts/reb/ast fall into place at some point in his career.

Same goes for Paul, Williams, Lebron, Rose.

It'll happen eventually. There's too many good all around players.

I think Andre Iguodala has about as good of a chance as anyone. He's always among the leaders in triple doubles and hes also always in the tops of the league in steals.

Generally speaking, rebounds and steals are a rare combination, and so are assists and blocks. So finding someone who can do those is the best bet.

My list:
Lebron James
Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard is not a big assist guy (2.1 apg this season and a career high of 7), so I don't think he's a good bet. (Well, they're all long shots, but he's not a good bet even by these standards.)

Christ Paul (steals instead of blocks)
Serge Ibaka

Ibaka averages .5 assists a game. Not what I'd call a good passer.

Kyrie Irving (in a few years)

Well, no sign that makes him stand out so far. For a quick guy, he gets surprisingly few steals.

Who else could do it?

Big men who can pass and block shots:
Andrew Bogut
Marc Gasol
Josh Smith

Guards and wings who rebound and get steals:
Andre Iguodala
Ricky Rubio
Lebron James (you mentioned)
Chris Paul (longshot, but he does chase down his share of rebounds for a little guy)

Three of those games were almost quintuple doubles with all of those turnovers lol... Lebron doesn't really get that much steals.

In the league right now, I'll go with Rondo or Wall. Both those guys get some steals and have shown they can get enoguh rebounds.

Though I think the next player isn't in the league yet and that they'll be a big man.

LeBron has the best chance. He's close to triple-double in almost every game. And he need that luck on steals. So he'll have more chance than anyone else. Then I have Rondo and Josh Smith. I honestly don't see anyone else doing it.

Timmy Should've been credited with 2 blocks in the finals that would've gave him one. But now, I would think now Rondo has a really good shot at it. It's just very difficult for someone to get 10 steals or 10 blocks. Lebron may be able to, and Maybe Dwight if guys knock down shots when he's passing out of double teams.
