View Full Version : Peter Vecsey: Bogut being shopped

MILLERHIGHLIFE

That leads us to Andrew Bogut, who fractured his left ankle and is out for another 8-12 weeks. Hurt or healthy, there are always teams interested in the 2005 pick of the litter, who’s under contract ($13M/$14M) for the next seasons. Obviously, the Bucks have yet to hear anything especially enticing, but they’re “definitely open to offers,” disclosed an East Coast coach.

6th man of the year candidate and a young atheletic hussle wing for a players whos owed like 27 mill who hardly plays seems fair to me. How can someone who plays 20 games a year be a top 5/6 center?

Bynum is considered a top center with all his injury past and knee problems.

Rondo, J.Oneal, J.Johnson, E. Moore, Pavolic, 1st Rd Pick

Atlanta Hawks should take a real hard look. Not sure we be good trading partners. Joe Johnson contract is huge. Marvin Williams hasn't lived up to the hype of a #2 pick. Josh Smith burned his bridge to Milwaukee in that playoff series giving city of Milwaukee a dull place to live. Bucks should of resigned Zaza back in the day instead of over paying Gadz. Kirk is a nice expiring. But not much else. Teague be decent but on a rookie deal.

Hawks should send Marvin Williams a 2nd pick and 2 expiring contracts Tmac and stackhouse should work for Andrew B.

He could play center and move Horford to his natural position at the 4

you would have

Teague
Johnson
Smith
Horford
Bogut (If healthy)

That could be kind of scary...

I dont know if the money works out I would have to look but I know that marvin makes a good chunk so its possible.

Not sure why that popped in my head but it seems like both teams may be intrigued.

Might have to throw in one of the young wings from Utah.

Might not need the pick if you are taking back Jackson's bad contract.

Calderon is a top 10 PG

cp3, deron williams, rose, rondo, parker, nash, westbrook, curry, lowry, k. irving

are all better and have stronger cases for being top 10.

Calderone is in the 2nd tier level with guys like Wall, Jennings, Holliday, Collison, Conley, T. Evans, Lawson, etc. In this group there are guys that are still developing and guys that have obvious flaws.

I don't get why everyone thinks Jennings doesn't want to play in Milwaukee. All he said was that when his contract is up, he'll consider looking into bigger market teams. He never has requested a trade. He's never said he doesn't want to be a Buck long term. All he said is that he'd consider going elsewhere, but he's also always said he likes Milwaukee, especially if we can build a good young team around him.

Bogut is always injured. Who would want him?

I hate when people stay stuff like this, because while its true Bogut is injured often, its not like he's that injury prone. Look at his injury history, sure he does have some injuries, like a nagging back injury that holds him out a couple games. But what big guy actually plays every game. Most centers miss a couple games every couple years due to nagging injuries like that.

But some of Bogut's other major injuries include a freak elbow accident in which any player in that situation missed the rest of the season, and would have been effected poorly the next season too. This year, he fractured his ankle because he landed on someone's foot. Any player of his size and weight would fractured their ankle in that same situation. Its not like his injury history is similar to someone like Oden's, which is surgeries on the same knees for similar problems. Bogut's injuries are accidents that could have happened to anyone.

Of course. Because no one has heard of Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Jeremy Lin, Ricky Rubio, or Kevin Love, right? The reason that one wouldn't know of Bogut would be the fact that the dude barely plays due to his extensive injury history.

crewfan13
02-27-2012, 09:49 PM
Bogut has played in 80% of the games in 5 of his 7 seasons. For examples sake, Shaq played in 80% of the games in a season 10 out of his first 16 seasons. (I even dropped Shaq's seasons after Miami since age was really catching up with him at that point.)

I'm not saying Bogut hasn't gotten injured a decent amount, but like I've said, he's had some freak accidents, not re-occurring injuries like Oden that often affect the same parts of his body.

Finally, I know you're joking about people not hearing about him, but real nba fans should have heard about him. I honestly think if Howard wasn't in the league, Bogut would have had at least one defensive player of the year, except he never gets recognized for how good he is defensively. When he blocks shots, he keeps them in play and tips them to teammates, instead of swatting them 5 rows deep into the crowd like Dwight does.

I just wish I shared your optimism on this one man. I think your right about having some nice young pieces around him though. Milwaukee just can't keep ****ing up.

I also think a lot has to do with the fact that he(Bogut) just doesn't want to play for us anymore. I have a real bad feeling that if/when he gets traded, we are really going to regret it.

However I firmly believe Larry Sanders, if he can add some more weight, can start at center. Call me crazy.
