By the way, it sounds like Chris Johnson is safe and will not be waived by the Blazers. It's down to Armon Johnson and Greg Oden.

Greg Oden is on a one-year deal w Blazers. So if they planned on trading his expiring contract at any point, he'd have to consent to it.

Interesting.

We'll find out in the next 24 hours what Portland does.

Would you want your team to acquire Oden on an incentive-laden deal? Knowing he wont be ready until the middle of next season of course, but he gets paid if he gets onto the floor.

Phoenix Suns PLEASE resurrect his career!!!!!!

He was supposed to be what Bynum is today, with better defense

The suns could be a possible destination their trainers and physical staff work wonders. Feel like sending half the nuggets there for a month lol

Three micro-fracture surgeries later, the only teams that should give up a 2nd round pick, are the top 10 teams in the league...

Sad to see this happening to him and the blazers too especially going through Roy's career. I doubt he can make a recovery.

Sad to see what he could have been, but I highly doubt they would find a trade partner. they will have to release him. I wouldn't think there would be anyone to give him a chance. The kid has knees made of glass, worse then bynum.

He just isn't worth the risk at this point.

As a Suns fan, while the thought is nice, 3 microfractures is too much. I can't see him ever being healthy enough to stay on the court.
That said, since Phoenix never really uses its second rounders, I guess it couldn't hurt. Sign him to a 2 year vet min deal. Let him rest all of next season and then give it a go the following year.
Backing up Gortat could keep his minutes low too.

His knees?

Well the poll says that all it cost would be a 2nd round pick.

That's practically nothing.

There's no reason to trade for him when he's a year and a half from playing. Someone will sign him eventually though. Id like to see the Suns work on him

for a team like the Bulls who can afford to sit him at home for a year, why not?

Second round picks mean nothing to most teams. I would trade him if i was portland. PHX would be a excellent destination for him

I offer Rasual Butler.

LOL, I'd say that's actually a reasonable deal, and I'm laughing just saying it.

Suns for the staff. spurs for the miracle if he can get healthy.

It is time.. Shame. Could have been great.

I agree with those saying he should go to the Suns to revive his career, or actually start one. Even if he has to be a role player with minimal minutes, that would be great.

you guys are howls...wait 3 months and re ask this question I bet half the teams in the NBA willl take him on the small chance he becomes a decent C, I mean Greg Ostertag is in the damn D league making a comeback ya think teams are hurting for C's much?

The_Jamal

I'd have no problem dealing a 2nd round pick for him. Sit him on the bench/ rehab him as much as possible and you might be able to get a serviceable 15 minute a game back-up C next season

He was in the D League I heard his knees couldn't hold up so he packed his bags and went home.

@ Ostertag: That's what I've heard too. Think I read it in an article too, just a couple weeks ago.

Just tape his legs all the way a hundred times so that he's able to stay on them while on court. ;-)

Nah, it's sad. He's done. Already was a couple days after being drafted. Defensively, he could have been great.

I know the talent is there, but I just dont believe he will ever REALLY play again. He maybe, and i stress MAYBE, will get on the floor again, but he will get hurt and he will never be healthy.

Pacers will take him. And give him a multi-year deal.
