Was asking for a foul call and through the ball at the ref. He tried to say it was just a pass to the ref but clearly it was deliberately

Oh, terrible decision, Rondo.

If it is the SECOND time he's done this and is indeed a repeat offender, then what do you suggest he would deserve as punishment?

Rondo thought that the ref was Turk Wendell... it's a common mistake.

Rondo thought he was playing dodge ball with the ref

Did Kevin Love get 2 for stomping on a guy?

I would have been pretty pissed if I had someone jump on my head and got no foul call either. Oh well.

Rondo should have threw it harder. The referee should have admitted his mistake rather than crying to Stu Jackson.

Kevin Love is white therefore he gets the benefit of the doubt. Besides tapping someone with a ball is worse than getting stomped on right? Wait...

idk the nba really is inconsistent i thought the love suspension was a little much but this is saying, deliberatly stomping on another player is equivalent to throwing a ball at a ref? i dont really get it...

lol..to bring some light in this thread,
Rondo was suspended because he disrespected the official.

was Kevin Love's action more disgraceful? YES.
but the thing is, Rondo did this to an "nba authority" (this case the refs) so he deserved to be suspended for 2 games. although i thought Kevin love should have been suspended more games

The ref should be suspended as well for missing an obvious foul. I'd be pissed too if some shiv came down on my back and neck and no foul call.

He's immature and the fact it's his second time doing this, he should be suspended 10 games!

He got fouled. Had the ref made the right call then rondo wouldn't have done that. I blame the blind ref. Good job rondo.

Think about it like this, if you were in school and you got into a fight with another kid you might get suspended for a couple of days if it was say a minor scuffle; however, if you so much as intentionally hit a teacher (say one hard punch) you could get expelled.

ManRam
02-20-2012, 07:30 PM
Yeah, not sure that's worth two...

but he's gotta react better. silly move on his behalf.

he was definitely fouled tho...but that doesn't make what rondo did ok, so not sure why anyone would condone that just because it was a wrong call. two wrongs equal a right?

02-20-2012, 07:45 PM
well refs are horrible all year, just hoping it will all pan out and every team gets the same kind of mistakes over the season...

thats fair, he's an idiot for doing what he did.

respect the game rondo

Wade bron and bosh arent dumb enough to chuck the ball at a ref. If they did that, they would deserve the punishment. But they are not immature and they can control there temper.

Well the ref didn't catch the ball :p

Yep. Ref clearly had an attitude, already being an *** about the non-call, and then giving off attitude and let's the ball hit him. Like, pretend to not catch the ball and then T him up and eject him.

Worst referee move all year. Rondo was probably messing up the refs point spread or whatever.

Rondo has every right to be angry about this, and it should be appealed.

Not sure if your serious...there was clearly hostile intent with the that throw...when was the last time you saw a player throw the ball at the ref and not get penalized?

02-20-2012, 08:24 PM
Lol...how did I know Boston fans would come here and try to defend Rondo. You don't hard toss the ball at the refs chest/face when he has his whistle in his mouth and one hand in the air if you're "passing it" to him.

shep33
02-20-2012, 08:28 PM
the ref can't catch

pd1dish
02-20-2012, 08:33 PM
wow, that was weak.......he barely "threw" the ball. it was an underhand pass that was obviously intended to be thrown harder, but its not like it was a physical attack meant to injure or harm the ref.

it was to show Rondo's anger and disgust. im not saying he should get away with it, but the refs dealt with it correctly initially by throwing him out of the game. and, not to mention the fact that if the ref had his arms in a position to catch the ball, it would have been an easy catch. 2 game suspension is just ridiculous. thrown out of game plus a fine would have been sufficient.

He got two games because it's happened multiple times. He's gotten warnings from refs on two occasions that I can recall just this year alone for firing the ball at them after a call he didn't like.

If this was his first time, it would have been a warning (as it has been in the past)

Sssmush

if it is a bounce pass, he only gets suspended one game. But, if he sets the ball down on the ground, or rolls it toward the ref, then it is a 3 game suspension.

If the ref tries to catch the underhand pass and breaks his pinkie finger, then we are talking indefinite suspension

the people defending rondo and calling out the ref for a missed call, are mental.

Raps18-19 Champ

I don't mind.

That's automatically a 1 game suspension and considering he's done this before, 2 games is fair.

The refs are the authority in games. I have no problem with the league laying down the law in protection of them to keep players in check.

Of course, if you're going to get suspended you may as well get your money's worth and not just pass the ball:
