Laker fans, now i really havent watched enough of calderon to knock him but will he really be the savior at pg for us? he averages 11 and 8 on a bad team. it seems like he would have a little bit more impressive numbers playing in toronto. like i said, havent watched enough of him to be able to knock him but wanted to know the rest of you LAKER FANS true opinions. I dont know how comfortable id be if they got Calderon. Just wondering if anyone else feels the same?

sorry if this isnt thread worthy.

we dont need him to score more than 8 points a game, and score his 3p attempt effectively to spread the flour, wich he can do.

Also, he would ahve more assits here than in toronto, he finds his man, theres a different in finding kobe, pau and drew than finding kleiz and ed davis you know?

Add chemistry with Pau.

He isn't a star but he would be a good starting PG for any team who lacks a PG.

He's unselfish, he can shoot, pass.. Like Crooner said, he would be a great help to spread the floor and get some easy looks for our bigs.

He can be great in LA, I dont think our FOs want to comit to his contract, but he is a no brainer IMO. I would give our TE and a 1st pick, this is how good I think this guy can be in LA. He can bring a lot of money from he spanish speaking folks from LA too...

He's good, and he would be a good answer for them at PG, but he would be an expensive answer. I don't think they can get him without a third team, or without giving up a lot for him.

Very very good offensive player... Would improve us tremendously

terrible defender... but not worse than our current situation

extremely expensive for someone of his caliber

no trade assets to get him unless a miracle 3rd team would want to help... definitely not worth Pau even with a good PF replacement coming back

Likelyhood of him becoming a Laker <1%

He'd be a great asset on this squad. Any euro type guard with good skills and 3pt range would fit here. He and Pau would be pure also because of their styles and history.

Maybe if we completed two trades with them. One for the TPE for a bad contract, and the other being minor trade assets combined for Calderon we could get it done. TPE for Amir Johnson and James Johnson per se. Then Blake, minor players and a pick or swap for Calderon. Toronto would welcome picks and TPE as they look to acquire RFA's.

yeah i hear what all you guys are saying and some great points made...just wonder if bringing in another non defending pg is gonna help us out or make more headaches. from what it sounds like though, hes a poor mans nash so i guess that would be okay. would rather have nash though even though hes 38

Simply put, Calderon makes players better around him. He is an excellent floor general not to mention a great shooter. We need someone like him. He's not a great defender, but since Brown is a defensive specialist, he can probably find a way. If there is a chance to add Calderon to this roster to play along side, Pau, Bynum, and Kobe, you try your absolute best to get him.

Overpaid but obviously would help the team. Mitch will probably stick with his man crush Fisher. If something actually does happen, it will be for somebody else. Gasol to Warriors, Celtics, or Timberwolves.
