New Orleans center Chris Kaman, who front-office sources say is a near lock to be moved before the March 15 trading deadline, is not the only big man to be had out West. Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com this week that Nuggets center Chris Andersen is also available, with Denver having just signed Kosta Koufos to an unexpected three-year contract extension worth $9 million to lock him into a frontcourt rotation headlined by Nene and Timofey Mozgov. ESPN.com

Injuries to Nene and Mozgov have enabled Andersen to get more court time recently, but sources say that the Nuggets are open to moving Andersen prior to the deadline, as much as they'd love to have an extra big man in the playoffs. Trading for Andersen, though, means taking on a 33-year-old with two more years left on his contract after this season at close to $9.5 million ... and with the glory of his contributions to Denver's 2009 playoff run nearly three years in the past. Way overpaid, brings nothing onto the court. Can't see anyone wanting him for anything of value.

nuggs have to sweeten the deal by adding a pick or someone like corey brewer to the trade. birdman has 2 years 9 mil left on his contract.

I was gonna suggest dumping him on the lakers, but we don't need another big contract that doesn't produce. If no other teams are lookin to dump any more productive players then it's a maybe. We could use the extra fouls down low, but we don't need to be paying another over the hill player 4-5 million for the next two years.

Knicks should get him to have the most entertaining team in the league. Balkman and Douglas for him.

He is no way a scrub! Look at his stats this year when he played more than 10 minutes!

Coach doesn't play him BC he wants the youth movement in Denver

Would be a good fit in Dallas.

They really could use a player/personality like him coming off their bench.

when he has been given 10+ minutes he has produced i think if a team snags him on the cheap he could be a player that helps a contending team...

Saw him play in Memphis last night and it looked like it took over 5 minutes of play to get him involved in the game. He did contribute at that point, but he is a shadow of what he once was.

I'd say a trade centered around Birdman for Steven Jackson could work. If DEN had another contract they'd like to dump they could include that. Jackson could help a young DEN team lacking a closer.

I doubt Jackson is a George Karl kind of guy though.

The Heat can use him, but we have no one to trade for him.

Well and he isn't better than Mozgov, Kosta, Kenneth Faried, nene or Harrington so where exactly would he play?

His shot has gotten better, still brings energy, he is a shot blocker. I would take him for nearly nothing. Like a draft pick to dump some of his salary.

Would Nuggets take Farmar, or Deshawn & Damion, or Shawne and Damion for him, and also send a future 1st rounder to Nets?
