Lol at the above posts :laugh2:

Heat-Pacers is going to be one of those games where Heat fans will drive themselves up a wall. This is going one of the Heats' tougher games all year when you consider it's the 3rd game of our back-to-back-to-back set. And I always cringe when we go up there in Indy, because I remember we used to really struggle against this team no matter who was on the roster. I don't know what to think about this one honestly.....Will be interesting indeed.

He also has a very high Usage rate, gets a lot of assists and just has to create quite a lot for the team right now. He'll regress to the mean and be a 3-4 turnover per game guy like most point guards when the dust settles. That's how he's fared in the past.

Lin more revealed some somewhat significant flaws in his game tonight, but more importantly illuminated what he does well and what a stud he is.

Not afraid to shoot that last second three and drill it at the buzzer? Lincredible, bottom line.

Never seen an NBA story like this, and that's aside from the fact that he's from Harvard or Asian.

Right, Lin's And1 with a minute left and 3 pointer at the buzzer should be totally undermined...

Shump's D was fantastic, agreed - but if you don't understand that Lin should rightfully be praised (as he will), then, well, you're just a complete hater. He has that team playing with an energy that they have not had in years. And to stone cold drill that three in their face to win it? That's cold. He has made the Knicks relevant again. And perhaps more importantly, has reduced Shump's shots in the absence of Melo (never a good thing if Shumpert is shooting).

Be real, would everyone be this crazy about Lin if he was on the Grizz, Hawks, Pacers, etc? Being excited for a player is one thing. Over-hyping the guy is another.

No, but playing in New York is only one factor of this incredible story line. It's a perfect storm combination of #1) Being sent down to the D. League multiple times, finally being given a start and IMMEDIATELY giving them an injection of energy and turning an absolutely dying team around before things got too bad to come back from, #2) He's the first Asian American to ever play in the NBA, #3) Yes, it's the NY Knicks and they will garner far more publicity than the Bucks, but if this was LA, Chicago, etc. the story would be the same magnitude, #4) He's one of three players to ever come out of college at Harvard, and that has its own interesting appeal as a story.

Combine all those factors in that order, and you have yourself the perfect storm for a #1 story in all of sports, which is what this is. For better or worse tonight's game will only increase that hype.

Personally I don't watch ESPN or SportsCenter outside of certain NBA games, so the hype isn't overbearing for me. I can only recommend others do the same; ESPN is garbage.
